City/Town: Morges & Geneva
Event Type: Special Promotion
Location: Morges lakeside & Palexpo
Price: Free entry.

This is actually 2 or 3 events in one......

First, I will be in Morges on Saturday October 1st for the British Classic Car Show, they are expecting over 1500 cars to be on display along the lake, last time I came they put me by the marina next to the main entrance of the event and I'm hoping I will be there again. I'll be bringing lots of cheese and British Ales (I'll probably be making up small cheese tasting plates too to enjoy with the beer too).

Then on Sunday I'll be at the Palexpo next to Geneva airport for the Expat-Expo from 11.00 - 17.00 to sell the remaining beer and cheese.... don't worry, I will bring plenty. At the Expo there will be lots of other companies exhibiting of course and there will even be a bouncy castle for the little ones.

But... Saturday evening I will be staying at the Ibis hotel at Geneva airport and if anyone fancies a beer or 3 it'd be nice for me to get an evening off. It's your town so feel free to make any suggestions... as long as I can get back to the hotel to get a reasonable amount of sleep!

Please indicate which event/s from the weekend you will likely to be at and at what time. Maybe we can arrange an EF meet at 2pm on each of the 2 days for those of you would like to make new friends. Both commercial events are free entry BTW.

Looking forward to meeting some more of you!

Re: Lac Lemaners. I'm coming down with lots of cheese and will fancy a beer!

We'll be there on the Saturday for definite. My 2 'boys' will be in heaven if they get classic British cars and cheese in the same day. Can't say I'm overly keen on either myself but you have to make sacrifices once in a while.
Almost certainly won't be there on Sunday though as I'm hoping OH and son will think of something a bit more special than the expat expo for my birthday. I'm not holding my breath though. (deep fat fryer and spnge bob sandwich toaster spring to mind)

Edit. Just saw the bit about ales. Guess this means I'll be driving then.

I would like to come on the Saturday, but need to check things out first. I'll mention it to my OH. He won't be so keen on the cheese as he believes that French cheese is heavenly and English cheese is a bit rubbish (normally I agree, but I'm assuming GG has something special up his sleeve and I'd love to educate the boy's froggy palate to the fact that there are some very nice British cheeses) but he will be extremely excited about the ales and probably eager to see the cars too.

How does it taste on christmas cake? That'a about the only time I ever really eat cheese.
I'm willing to give them all a try though. You never know I might find I actually like one of them.

But you lay it on top of the cake or what? (I don't like Christmas cake anyway, but will definitely take the cheese!).

OH seems quite keen, so will reply "yes" unless something else comes up!

You cut yourself a nice thick slice of Christmas cake and put a few slices of the cheese of your choice on top. We always had Cheshire on it at home but I have it on very good authority that Grumpy has some very nice Wensleydale which is perfect for the job. Hope he'll bring some with him for me to taste on the day.

Re: Lac Lemaners. I'm coming down with lots of cheese and will fancy a beer!

For Saturday at Morges can I suggest anyone here who wants to meet some fellow EFers hang around at my cheese tent at 2pm?

I'll be bringing plenty of bottled ales and cider and will be serving cheese plates with chutney for lunch, I'm also looking at how I might be able to serve toasted Bagels with cheddar or blue stilton. They went down very well at the last Ploughmans!

Here's hoping for friendly weather

Have a great day in Morges. I wish I could be there. First one Ive missed in about 10 years. The E Type collection in the chateau courtyard should be good this year as its the 50th birthday .

Ooooh bagels. Yes please. Not a big cheese fan but willing to try some different ones.

We'll be coming down on the train but I'm guessing it'll be pretty easy to find you.

The E type jags are what my son is looking forward to most. He's just discovered the reruns of Top Gear on Dave so I'm being subjected to an overdose of Clarkson et al. Think I might have to trip the fuse to the TV socket if it carries on much longer.

Re: Lac Lemaners. I'm coming down with lots of cheese and will fancy a beer!

I hope to meet you on Saturday, Grumpy, and I'll try to be at your stand around 2 and buy some cheese.
Out of shame, I won't be looking at the classic cars because, until recently, my poor old husband had a 1937 Bentley, which he says I forced him to sell.
It was his pride and joy but he couldn't look after it himself anymore, and he'd spent much more on it's bodywork than I've ever spent on mine, which is also 1937, and which would be in good shape, had there been any money left for even a minor repair-job, or even a bit of slap come to that

So are any of the RSVPs for Saturday evening in Geneva? Because if I'm the only one (gata can only doFriday), we might as well maintain our Friday EF event, and see grumpygrapefruit on Sunday at the Expo.

We need to find some middle ground with this event: http://www.englishforum.ch/social-ev...es-drinks.html
