When night approaches and light levels fall most photographers pack up their gear and call it a day. The goal of this class is to show you how, with some skill and imagination, you can produce amazing images in low-light and night time conditions. This class is perfect for anyone who is familiar with how to control exposure settings on their DSLR camera and wishes to learn or improve their low-light and night time shooting techniques.
This course will begin with a short classroom introduction and discussion to cover som basic terms and techniques. The instructor will then lead students on a walking tour to shoot at various nearby locations during ‘Golden Hour’ (the hour before sunset), sunset and twilight. Students will learn:
- How to shoot great sunset and early evening images
- Long exposure techniques using camera supports
- Specific techniques like shooting light trails
- How to deal with white balance issues
- Exposure settings for various situations
- Low-Light and Night Photography Gallery
Class Format: Demonstration and Hands-on exercises
