In case you missed me last weekend in Morges and Geneva I'm heading your way again. Friday 21st October from 7 - about 9 or so in the evening I will be at the Christ Church in Lausanne for a wine and cheese evening. I will give a talk about my cheeses with some funny stories and I will have a competition to win a big chunk of Stilton. There will be lots of cheese to try and also to buy, a percentage of my take will go to the church too.

The wines will be from South Africa and there will be tea and cakes afterwards (how sweet, made by the church ladies of course).

This is not a religious event, you don't have to be a Christian, or even religious, to attend. it is purely a fund raising event to keep this important building standing.

A very lovely forum member has suggested we have some beers afterwards so I'd welcome being taken by the hand on a pub crawl. I'll be staying in town that night, so you'll just need to get me back to my hotel in one piece.

The next day I'll be in Geneva at the Moevenpick wine shop from about 11 - 5. I'm not sure what their plans are exactly, but they usually have 40 or so bottles of wine open for you to try and I'll have some special cheeses to pair with them. The wine and cheese tasting is completely free, but of course you can buy to take home too.

In particular, we would like to know if you are attending the Lausanne church evening do so we can plan numbers, just let us know about the Saturday one if you're hoping to meet some more lovely EFers!

Thanks GG. I very much enjoyed the stories and also chatting with the women from the church - who one non-brit described as "very british" in fact, i think the phrase was "in your face british"

Sorry to have missed you both times you were here. Hope you'll be back again soon and that there will be some shops stocking the cheeses - do keep us posted! Cheddar cheese toastie....yum yum!
I'm back at the English Church in Lausanne on Saturday 26th November for their Christmas market (I might also be there on the Friday evening to have another drink). The cheese I will bring will all be good for Christmas, as long as you don't eat it in the meantime of course.

And it looks like my cheese will be stocked at a new American/European cafe and deli in between Lausanne and Geneva, they're planning on opening in the spring and I'll make sure I'm there for the opening.
