Okay, it's a bit ahead of the actual events, but for those of you who love military planes and air displays the Swiss Air Force will be celebrating 100 years in 2014. Also the Patrouille Suisse their 50th anniversary and the PC-7 Team its 25th.

There are 4 events being planned altogether, the first at Locarno Air Base (also celebrating 75 years), then in July at Bern Beundenfeld. Finally there will be an air show on two consecutive weekends at Payerne - 30th/31st August and 6th/7th September. Events spanning the two weekends are also being planned.

We went to the Air 04 show at Payerne and it was a great day out so make a note in your calendar.

2014?!

Me too .... but glad I had an old pair of ear protectors, for my then 5yr. old - we probably all could have benefited from a pair - those hornets and Tigers don't 'alf make a din on afterburn.

Aaand don't forget this years Axalp on 10 and 11 October.
