Fear. Anxiety. Anger. Sadness. Shame. Cravings. Pain…. Despite our best intentions, we often have trouble dealing effectively with strong and difficult emotions. When we are caught in the grip of our negative emotions, we do not clearly recognize what is happening inside us, nor do we feel kind. Our view of who we are is distorted and narrowed and our heart feels hardened against life.

Our emotions are not our enemy. Our difficult emotions call us to respond to ourselves with kindness, acceptance and patience.
In this workshop we learn how to begin the process of accepting our difficult emotions rather than fighting them. When we stop fighting and resisting, the relief is immense. The workshop includes:
• Ways to use painful emotions to cultivate wisdom, presence and acceptance;
• Insights and practices for bringing clarity and understanding to our emotional life;
• Modalities to build resilience;
• Meditation practices, including compassion and befriending practices.
