British Classic Car Show, Morges

Just a head's up for all you petrol heads out there. The British Classic Car Show at Morges is next Saturday, 3rd October 2015. Around 1,500 vintage models parked up all along the lake shore - ideal for strolling on a lovely sunny autumn day (we hope ). From 10am to 5pm officially, but plenty of cars already parked up for viewing at 9am or earlier. Don't leave it too late or parking your car will be difficult.

Damn, OH is away in Copenhagen, #1 son will be busy moving, #2 son busy helping #1, and I can't drive.
Shame, the family Minis could do with a decent run.

Oh, well. Maybe next year.....

Have fun, those of you that do go, the weather looks decent too!

What about public Transport ? Geneva Morges should be no Problem. In good weather even possible by bycicle

That explains it .... I was there three years ago.

Grumpy always used to give the heads-up for this, but he seems to travel less, these days.

I did ask him a little while ago if he would be attending, but unfortunately he's busy elsewhere again this year. So rather than tag the reminder on to his old event thread I thought it better to start a new one.

It's hard to take a mini on public transport though and even harder to tow one behind a bicycle I imagine.

Especially as I'm about twenty kilometres south of the city (tiny hamlet with no access to public transport), and as Belgianmum's auto-correct rightly says, am idle!!!

So sorry but this is very bad indeed.

What is the name of that hamlet ?

What about a taxi to the nearest place with public transport ?

I live in a tiny place near Soral, can usually pre-order a minibus if necessary, it just involved a lot of organising to get home again as the minibus only runs 9-6 on weekdays.

At the great age of 59 I've just invested in an electric bike so that I can (in theory) get to the nearest village and am slowly going to build up to the long ride to the tram stop at Bernex!
Who knows, next year I might even get as far as the railway station in Geneva and so on to Morges by train.

Still think it would be easier if I spend the next year bullying my sons into taking their mother by car!

I would NOT rely on the sons as that would make you dependent on them. They both possibly EMIgrate to Paris or Zürich or München or Marseille

Hey, don't blame us if you can't get your priorities straight. Remember for the future - don't schedule work for the first Saturday in October!

Sexist! Frankly, though I'm not that great a fan of cars I'd rather look at them than anything remotely related to the phrase "chick". Besides I don't have to cook lunch if we go car watching.
