The Tragedian is a one man play written and performed by British actor Glen Wilson (Eastenders, The Bill, Shoot The Messenger). It chronicles the life and career of Ira Aldridge an African American who travelled first to England and eventually across Europe to perform great classical roles such as King Lear and Othello. Aldridge almost forgotten until a recent revival of his story, was in his day one of the most acclaimed classical actors of the 19th century.

The Tragedian has toured the UK and now makes its Swiss premiere in Basel at the Unternehmen Mitte Safe theatre for 3 nights only from Friday 13th - Sunday 15th October. Starting at 8pm.
Please note that on Sunday 15th the start time is 4pm.

Wilson's creative and stirring production is brought to Switzerland by Yardbird, Switzerland's professional English speaking theatre company. For more information find us on Facebook - Yardbird.

Tickets go on sale 1st August - Ticketino.com

Re: The Tragedian

Hi Salad Days

Sorry for late response. We have no plans at the moment to bring the show to Geneva as we currently have no connections down there. However this will change as we become more established. We are currently forming relations with venues in Zurich and St Gallen, hopefully Geneva will be next!
