City/Town: Thalwil, ZH
Event Type: Special Promotion
Location: Cheese Club, Seestr 11, 8800 Thalwill
Price: 35.00

This Friday evening from 7 - 9, have a fun and informative evening learning about British cheese, why it has a bad reputation, and why it is not justified! Taste 8 different cheeses including 3 very different cheddars with bread, crackers and chutney's (you will not go home hungry!). The entry price of SFr. 35.00 includes wine, beer or soft drinks and tasting notes. If you want to buy any cheese on the night you also get a 10% discount.

Doors open at 6.30 if you want to arrive early for a glass of wine and a chat. The event is limited to 10 people only. The presentation is in English but the tasting notes can also be printed in German if you are bringing any Swiss friends/family.

Please ask any questions or indicate your numbers below. I did 5 of these last week, all for private groups (8 - 12 people if you want to arrange your own) and they all went down very well.

The Cheese Clubs tasting room is at Seestrasse 11, 8800 Thalwil, just 4 minutes walk from Oberrieden BH (where you can also park) and 20 minutes walk from Thalwil BH - we can arrange for taxis to take you back there if required.

A PDF map is HERE

Event is now full

Re: British Cheese workshop

I can't come (I need at least one night in this week, if only to finish off the cheese in the fridge), but my posting the fact that I can't come will bring this back to the top of the page, so may I be forgiven?

Because Zurich is the Great Metropolis of Switzerland.

As opposed, for example, to some little village a little too close to the Welschland where the Bundeshaus happens to be located...

One has your name on it.

And RC and DB. Please behave children!

I still have a few places left for thi Friday and I'm thinking of doing another one next Thursday evening if that's a better night for any of you - please PM or e-mail me if you'd like to come. Similar format as this one.

There is also a couple being planned with Spiffing Ales, both at our place and Bobs on the other side of the lake.

You're in Janice.

Just one space left if anyone is interested. The cheese menu will be:

Westcombe West Country Farmhouse PDO Cheddar
Lincolnshire Poacher Vintage Cheddar
Godminster organic Cheddar
(all 3 very different)

Hawes Mature Wensleydale (so different from supermarket Wensleydale)

Duddleswell West Sussex Organic Sheep
Ticklemore Devon Goat

Dunsyre Blue from Lanarkshire
Shropshire Blue from... er Nottinghamshire actually

Re: British Cheese workshop

Thanks Mike for a wonderful night. It was informative, yet casual. The cheese was amazing and the accompanying stories wonderful. I am still high from the Lanark Blue. And it was great to taste some real cheddars.

Cheers,
HB
