I have 5 or 6 places left for this coming Fridays cheese workshop. I had a new delivery yesterday and 2 cheeses really stand out: Oxford Isis, a small washed rind cows milk cheese, unusual in that it is washed in Honey Mead - I had some for lunch and this could be my new favourite cheese - and Stinking Bishop, this one washed in Perry made from Stinking Bishop pears - it is a bit whiffy but the flavour is much milder.

The workshop will include 6 other cheeses including Hereford Hop and our first 2 smoked cheeses. The wine will flow and I should open some ale to go with the hoppy cheese.

The price of CHf. 35.00 includes the wine, bread, crackers and chutney.

Just 2 places left now. I've had a request to open a fresh Stilton so that will also be on the menu as will at least one farm made cheddar. I forgot to mention that we also offer 10% off cheese purchases on the night.

This was an excellent night, thanks Grumpy.

I would highly recommend these cheese evenings. Not only do you get to try a vast selection of high quality cheeses, the crackers, excellent pickles and wine and beer are also top quality. The event is very informative and Grumpy is very entertaining.

The Cheese Club shop also has lots of lovely items for sale and good ideas for presents.
