Re: Magic Lessons

The short answer:

About 18

The long answer:

My aim is to teach the student not only tricks or routines, but also a set of skills and 'sleight of hand moves' which will allow them to invent and devise their own effects. Although aimed at the beginner, the tricks are all strong and deceptive; some come directly from my own professional performing repertoire. They require no special props except a pack of cards, a few coins and a couple of bits of rope (cards and rope provided).

The lessons break down as follows, though not strictly in this order:

Coin/ money magic 1 x 1 hour
Mind magic/ mentalism 1 x 1 hour
Impromptu (every day items) 1 x 1 hour
Rope 1 x 1 hour
Cards 2 x 1 hour

Basic card handling skills need to be learned before proceeding onto sleight of hand, so two, one hour lessons are required.

In each lesson the student will learn three tricks, which I believe is a realistic target. After 6 lessons, that equals 18 tricks, but the potential for the student to create more with their new skills is endless.

I'm happy to answer any questions you might have or change the lessons to suit your needs.

If anyone is interested, PM me with you contact details and I will get back to you.

If you wanted to take the 6 x 1 hour lessons, they would take place at my home where I have a dedicated magic room (sounds posher than it really is) and it would be on a one to one basis. I live in Zurich Unterland, Adlikon Bei Regensdorf 8106. The course is quite flexible and I would be happy to come to you for a one off (maybe two off) 2 hour lesson. We can discuss the price if you wanted to take this option, but there would be an extra charge for travel etc.

The amount of session it would take depend on how much you want to learn and at what pace, but the 6 x 1 hour lessons would give you a great overview of the many different types of Close-Up.

I'm pretty busy with my ghost walk and magic commitments at the moment, but if you wanted a one off lesson, I could probably fit that in before Christmas. Evenings and weekends are fine for me.

Re: Magic Lessons

Sorry, but I don't perform children's magic. Give Daniel a call at the Zauber Paradise 043 243 04 04. He speaks English and will be able to give you the names of some suitable magicians.

Re: Magic Lessons

Hi Dan,

My friend thought your tricks were amazing. Particularly the disappearing wallet trick. He was well puzzled.

But..erm....can he have his wallet back?

No chance, but I can teach you a quick mind reading trick. Concentrate and see if you can sense how many fingers I'm holding up!

Re: Magic Lessons

I'm so tempted by this, but won't have time until the new year.

I take it this is not just a Christmas thing, and you will be doing lessons in the new year?

The lessons are available all year round and not just a Christmas offer. Though it is the perfect time to advertise them. Evenings and weekends are fine.

PM me when you think you might have time. I can offer you a double (2 hour) lesson on each visit to halve the time you spend traveling.

Cheers,

Dan
