How about a posh version of cheese savoury? Grated cheese, spring onions and mayonnaise all mixed together, Love it.
Used to love White Stilton and mango chutney. Might work with proper Stilton
Ham and cheese. The Swiss think putting these two ingredients together will bring an end to the world
Prawn and Mayo Mmmmm
Egg Mayo and cold sausages with tomato
Ok I knew i should have had lunch! This thread is making me hungry

Branston pickle or tomato chutney or Heinz Sandwich spread (sorry) or Picalilly. Also, many people now don't eat bread so you could do a box with a chunk of cheese, salad, pickled onion, ham etc - like a Ploughmans but without rules. You could even do a boxed salad with nussli, a round of goats cheese (Rachel or similar), smoked salmon and a lemon for squeezing. | | | | | The Ploughmans box will be started next week, some sort of salad (eg coleslaw, raw onion and tomatos etc) with chutney, 2 chunks of cheese and a bread roll. I suppose ham could be included too (as could my chilli pickled eggs ) | Quote: | | | | | Grumps, what sandwiches could you make with that fantastic bacon you sell? It's the only thing standing between me and vegetarianism. | | | | | Not sure TBH. The bacon is not cheap and we can't cook here so it'd have to be cold. BLT springs to mind but really streaky bacon is better for that IMO.

Ok I knew i should have had lunch! This thread is making me hungry | | | | | The cheese savoury sounds sort of interesting, not sure if it would be a leap too far for some of my Swiss customers. If I did one with Berlauch it'd be a winner. Same goes if it had gherkins in it

My 5 day lunch menu please Grumpy
Mon - Pastrami with dill pickle and wholegrain mustard
Tues - Roast Pork with stuffing and apple sauce
Weds - Chilli Tuna with tomatoes and raita.
Thurs - Smoked Ham with Westmoorland chutney
Fri - Surprise me!
I guess the whole viadukt does suffer from a lack of passing lunchtime trade, but I promise if you have the above on offer, together with some freshly prepared soups you can have all my lunch money!

We could have a standard small selection every day but a specials each day of the week. And Scotch eggs really is something I need to start experimenting with

I would practically kill for a good reuben! I use to make my own here but then suddenly all the stores stopped selling the only good Thousand Island dressing that I could find (Knorr brand). |

Pickled eggs is lunch, if there's enough of them.
If people want variety, you could do chilli and non-chilli.

Corned beef and tomato....or with pickle - though a favourite of mine is corned beef mashed up with tomato ketchup but not to everyones taste so Corned Beef and tomato will do nicely.
Tuna and coleslaw but not the really wet tuna mayonnaise in the coop sandwiches.
Hoummus, onion , carrot, cucumber
And another vote for cold sausage sandwiches

Am trying to think of something that hasn't already been mentioned.
How about the brekkie combo, bacon, egg and sausage. Another variation for the cheese, cheese and pineapple.

have you never had cheese savoury GG? thought it was a northern thing, you can get it from the deli along with ready made egg mayo tuna mayo etc... but it's nicer home made, can have red leicester and cheddar grated with spring onion and mayo and with that garlic stuff too would be good
