I have set up a website that I hope will be of help to ex-pats here (and also soon to expand to London/UK).

The premise of my website is simple: Matching Teachers with Students, without having to go through an expensive Language School.

Teachers can offer group or intensive lessons, or accept a private lesson that a student has posted.

Students are able to find groups at their level, find a teacher teaching intensive lessons. They can also post a lesson, at their level, at a time that suits, which can be accepted by a teacher.

The website is free to register on, and free for Students to post private lessons on. There is a small charge for Teacher (the equivalent of half an hour's fee, ONE OFF) to receive the contact details of the student(s) who post/sign up for lessons.

I have newly added the option to teach / receive anything that isn't a language also, so if you are looking to learn a musical instrument for example, or get into a yoga class, you can do this also through the website.

Of course, I will always welcome feedback and suggestions of functionality for the site, so please, have a look, and hopefully you'll be on your way to learning or teaching something you've always wanted to.

Hi all,

Thanks to some superb feedback from many sources, I have endeavoured to make the website far more user-friendly.

I have created guides for teachers, to walk them through step-by-step how to use the website and get started teaching individuals or groups.

I'm also happy to offer a money back guarantee to teachers - if they connect with a student, but are unable to fix their lesson times for whatever reason, I will refund the fee they paid (minus Paypal's 2% or so).
