Re: Grumpy's Pub, the Mousetrap, is now serving

I'm proud to announce that I now have my own beer on tap. The Prince of Ales YPA (Yorkshire Pale Ale) is brewed exclusively for me by a local Zürich micro brewery using Yorkshire yeast and then lightly dry hopped to give a light fresh and slightly cloudy bitterness.

Cheers!

EDIT. I should have some half liter bottles ready for December, they'd make a grand gift, with some Wensleydale, for some homesick Yorkshire Folk!

My "Prince of Ales YPA" is now available in bottles. This exclusive Yorkshire Pale Ale is brewed in Zürich with Yorkshire Yeast and lightly dry hopped with Amarillo and Cascade hops. It's light, fresh and gently bitter and on tap all the time at the Viadukt Market in Zürich. Cheers!

Yup, someone this thread did buy a case already! Bottles are out of stock until next Tuesday now, but it'll be back on tap by tonight I think.

Re: Grumpy's Pub, the Mousetrap, is now serving

Spent some time at Grumpy's with some colleagues this evening. We started off with Grumpy's Prince of Ales YPA and stuck with it. It is eminently drinkable, very smooth and has a great taste to it. I can highly recommend it.
Complement that with one of Grumpy's cheese platters and the evening is a success!

Re: Grumpy's Pub, the Mousetrap, is now serving

I have just had a delivery of barrels (maybe the first ever in CH) of Marstons Pedigree. It's a classic English Bitter Amber Ale (someone will come along soon and claim it's the best beer in the world, which it is not )

It'll be on tap (unfortunately not on hand pump, but I am working on that) later this afternoon for a week or so. Cheers!

Unfortunately my own Prince of Ales YPA sold out just before Christmas, but I get more next week.

Re: Grumpy's Pub, the Mousetrap, is now serving

Now that the spring weather is starting to break through, we are now serving Gin and Tonics at the little Viadukt bar. We have over 12 different Gins from Eden Mill and Dunnet bay in Scotland and Whitely Neill Quince Gin, 2 traditional London Dry Gins and Gin fruit liquors from Tiptree. We serve these over ice or with English sparkling wine - a variation on a Bellini cocktail.

And on Saturday 14th March from 13.00 - 18.00 we'll have a free tasting of all of our gins at the Viadukt market and we'll be serving G&T's all day too. Cheers!

Re: Grumpy's Pub, the Mousetrap, is now serving

Unless you've been living in a cave, you'll know that my little beer bar in the Viadukt is now closed. Although we are still selling beers to go. We've reduced our to go bottle price and we're offering 6 for the price of 5 (can be mixed).

My Prince of Ales YPA is back in stock in bottles and we can also sell it in "Growlers" from the tap. Bring your own growler (or any measured container) and we'll fill it for 12.50 / Liter (normal tap price is 18.75). I also have some growlers from my other bar The International Beer bar. These are stainless steel vacuum containers and take 1 Liter. The price is 35.00 (plus the beer).

The beer in them is good for 3 - 4 days in the fridge and of course you can come back and fill them as many times as you like, either here or at the IBB (or any other bars that offer Growler filling). And of course they make rather nice gifts for any beer lover!

We send bottles of YPA by post, some other beers will go on the webshop soon too (we also have Port and cheese on it). But only within Switzerland.
