Re: NEW American Shop

First, not sure if you are setting up a physical store or on-line only. I would encourage you to think of the physical store if it is not already planned. Sometimes I need something at short notice, like baking a birthday cake, and quickly jump into the Nyon branch of your competitior. Having been there many times, they seem to do a huge turnover of candy with the local teens. Why is the website only in French?, fine for me, but if you want the english speaking clientele should be in english too.

As for products, perhaps I am missing something on your website, but am seeing no hot breakfast cereals, i.e. cream of rice, cream of wheat, pure rolled oats, perhaps grits. I have survived with some of the swiss equivalents but still would be nice to have these available. And given some threads on EF, seems to be popular.

Also missing a baking section, with perhaps food colors, brown sugar, baking powder, etc...

my kids love slim jims, although they scare me a little bit

tollhouse chocolate chips
crystal light powdered drink mixes

if you can swing it (ie it's allowed) Tums

I look forward to your store opening.

Are you based in France?

Also, it is in English as well, you have to go to the top right and you can change the language. Not sure if you will venture to offer German as well? But, English is fine for me

They sell those all at the local gas station. But they aren't cheap. There is an American goods importer in Freinbach, if you want a couple of Dews I can bring them along.

Cindy's Diner also carries a whole range of products, even Nerds. But if you want to get your fix it will really cost you. I have BBQ sauce from there that in the US, a bottle will cost from 1 to 1.69, and here the same exact bottle will go for 15 CHF.
I actually don't like Mountain Dew, but I know a few folks here and there that love them. I rarely drink soft drink. That is a huge markup on hot-sauce though!

Fresh or pickled Jalapenos(although they are often for sale for 4 CHF at Coop), Sharp Cheddar Cheese, Velveeta, Hershey's Chocolate Syrup, Labatts Blue(Brewed in Canada NOT from the UK), Old Bay Seasoning Blend, Martinelli's Sparkling Cider(non alcoholic), Cholula Hot Sauce, Ass In Space Hot Sauce, Ranch Dressing Both in the Bottle and Dried, Blue Cheese Salad dressing, Zip Sauce, Napa Red's, Bagels in more then Plain flavor(I could even produce these for you), Avocado Pit Oil, Corn and Flour Tortillas that do not cost a fortune, Hot Dog buns, French's Mustard, Kool Aid, Jello(Not the British stuff either), more to fantasize about.

Sharp Cheddar Cheese definitely, and Ranch Dressing! That would be awesome to make Dip out of. Miss Hershey's syrup too.

OP: I suggest adding Kool-Aid (the version which is already sweetened with sugar), Doritos and A1 sauce to your shop .

Can one pay with a payment slip (Einzahlungsschein) within 30 days when buying from your shop?

Is there a minimum order value?

Thanks and good luck!
Kool Aid, and A-1 Steak Sauce would sell I think. The latter I would love.

Re: NEW American Shop

I wanted to answer all the questions, hard to follow all questions.

We will be only online to start. The financial investment was huge to have all the product in stock, and open the company have the website made, the marketing, and so on, so we are going to start online. We want to open a store ASAP, as soon as we are able.

I want to take a second to thank you ALL for all your feedbacks, product ideas, links to laws, legal advices, and so on, even for the red spice advertising really made me laugh. I really did not think I would of had that much feedback when I posted. I am looking forward to reading all your new comments as the website grows, and we update all the products for opening.
SO PLEASE CONTINUE POSTING

You're welcome

To add to my suggestion above (payment slip option), I am sure many potential customers would also appreciate the possibility to prepay their order (Vorauskasse). Providing both options, you would ensure that one doesn't need to own a credit card to be able to order american food.

For a business like yours, if you decide to offer something other than credit card payment options, I'd offer the prepay rather than the payment slip method, as you won't have to wait for money while your items have already left your premises.

Do you know if you'll be asking for a minimum order value yet?

Oh, and I'd also add Welch's Grape Soda, Big Red Soda and Welch's Grape Jelly to the store.

thx
