Re: GUITAR LESSONS (LACM Curriculum)

I'm a big empress fan, I have the tremolo and would love to get one of the delays, but I haven't tried an OD from them, will seek one out to try!

Nice, me neither, the brand i told you i have an overdrive from is callds XTS (Xact Tone Solutions) right now they are top of the line in signal boosters an overdrives, i have the preamp that is a mix of two of their famous drives (Atomic and Multidrive) and a booster called Pegasus, you should take a look, really cool pedals!

Re: Music/Guitar Lessons in Zürich.

Thank you for getting back to me, unfortunately I can not afford lessons at that price. I am from San Diego and took a lesson or two a few years ago at $20 US dollars an hour. And while I appreciate we are in Switzerland I feel that is to much for me to pay. This is a only a hobby for me. Once again thank you and I wish you luck.

Re: Music/Guitar Lessons in Zürich.

I understand, my music education was expensive thats why my prices arent that cheap, i recommend you to just look on youtube to learn guitar as a hobby, you will find plenty of good stuff there, good luck to you too.

Don't forget that a few years ago you could also get your hair cut in San Diego for $20 and certainly you have adjusted to paying more in 2014 in Switzerland. Even if it's just a hobby one must realise that CHF 80 is a fair price for individual lessons with materials from a professional teacher for whom this is not a hobby and who also lives in Switzerland. Good luck Jonathan.

Re: Music/Guitar Lessons in Zürich.

You can get guitar lessons from Joe Blow down the street for $20 in the US, who is most likely self taught or a student. If you want to really learn how to play, though, you should want a professionally trained and educated teacher and pay a higher price for that training. This has been a sore subject in my house since my husband moved from Australia where he charged $100AD/hour for guitar lessons to the US where he was only able to get $50USD. Most of his students are serious musicians and were happy to pay him. They are all very sad to see him move to Switzerland this summer because they know they won't be able to find anyone of his caliber here.
IMO Jonathan's price is very reasonable in CH for a trained musician. My mother in law pays 100 CHF for accordion lessons!

Re: Music/Guitar Lessons in Zürich.

Private music tuition rates (and tuition in general) start here normally from 50 chf/h (students, ...) to over 100 for advanced teachers and/or skills.

If it sounds expensive, one should compare it with its own (gross) income or ask himself how much would charge to work by hour and manage a living here.

Lower rates can be obtained if going to group courses.

Re: Freelance Audio Engineer/Guitar Player/Music Teacher [ZH]

Here is a really good concept to work on to improve your Musicianship, Knowledge and improvisation skills. Learn ALL your triads in all twelve keys in all inversions in all the fretboard. If you want to learn more about this concept send me a msg.
