Colin
I have to say I am still buying your bacon from Jelmoli and have converted a couple of Swiss people to it too - in fact I was specifically asked to get your bacon in for a brunch recently as it was the best -coming from a Swiss person this is high praise indeed.
So my question is square slice/lorne sausage (for the posh folks out there) - what are the chances of you venturing into this??????
Good luck

Just thinking about square sausage is making me crave a visit to clatty Sam's at the Barras for a roll and square sausage, tatty scone and black pudding with brown sauce - culinary bliss. Followed up closely with a bag of mussels from the Oyster Bar!!

Has anyone tried making tablet here? I gave it a go for my birthday party last year but it wouldn't set - there was something strange about the butter here. Puff Candy worked a treat though

Oh yes, Jelmoli want my bacon, but not me. Rather employ a pimply youth than a butcher with 30 years in the business!
Square sausage seems to be the thing just now! Tell you what, next time I make a batch of Sausages, I'll prepare some square ones.
Watch this space.

Hi Colin
I would love more bacon - all the relatives are coming to visit - would also like a pork joint with lots of crackling if thats possible
Re tablet - my mum makes really good tablet - who said they wanted some? I can get her to make it - she usually makes loads for me but I don't like it
Also - Colin did you mention a ceilidh?? I would love to go to one and have been talking to some people and they are all keen as well
As for haggis and lorne sausage - count me in (and I'm still waiting on the blackpudding - Its lovely for salads as well as "pieces")

I just wanted to add to this, as I have new contact details. I finally bit the bullet and gave up my apartment in Dübendorf, and moved in with my girlfriend in Oberenstringen. I hope I've corrected all the other posts.
Anyway, since leaving Jelmoli, I'm still around for your bacon, sausage, or any other special meat orders. Please get in touch with me with your requirements.
The new numbers are:-
079 655 08 95 or,
044 742 12 03
On a slightly separate note, I'm having a pre-Burns night gathering in the Big Ben Pub, Zürich Niederdorf on Sunday 19th October. (See here for next years Supper Burns Night - 250th Anniversary) As well as a serving of my Haggis, we've got a few of the guys from the Zürich Pipes & Drums coming along, so it should be an entertaining evening. No charge.

Hi Colin,
Any chance you can point me in the right direction in my mission to find a haggis in Switzerland, in time for St Andrew's day?
Any advice, greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Millsy

Colin has just delivered another big batch of bacon and cumberland sausages to our shop in Thalwil, they may not last the weekend so e-mail me if you want some reserved. 500 gr packs, bacon is SFr 45 / Kg and sausage SFr 30 / Kg. We also discussed him making Chippolatas for Christmas as we have loads of requests. Can't guarantee it yet but let us know - if there is enough interest I'm sure I can persuade him!

Hi Millsy
my apologies. Only just saw this response. I made a huge batch before Xmas too.
However, if you read the whole thread, you would have realised I do Haggis too. Or indeed do a search on the forum for Haggis.
Just call me on the numbers above when I am back from Holiday 10 January, or PM me. Also a small plug Burns Night - 250th Anniversary | Quote: | | | | | Hi Colin,

Colin I take it this is still going? I am desperate for some proper bacon and sausages. And by desperate, I mean I actually seriously thought about, and attached a real-world price to my grandmother the other day. It should net me a kilo of bacon.

Jelmoli have stopped stocking it - so am hoping we can still get it from Colin, though I am in Scotland and just had my haggis supper for dinner gong to follow up tomorrow morning with a roll and slice, so might have had my fill by the end of the Easter weekend.
