FOR SALE - Sustainable, fully traceable Patagonia fox products

Dear EF members,
As a merino wool producer in Patagonia, we control wild Patagonian Fox. Instead of discharging the furs, we design handcrafted products, sustainable and fully traceable.
We produce pillows (40x40cm - CHF 175 each) and blankets (220x220cm - CHF 7500). The reverse side of our products are pure fabrics from sheep wool or a blend of sheep/alpaca wool.
For more information on the farm, you can visit our facebook page:
https://www.facebook.com/estanciaspatagonicas/
Those of you interested in the products, please PM me.
Many thanks and regards,
Patagonia

Your post is not clear to me, and I do not have access to Facebook. Therefore, would you please clarify whether you are selling products made from merino wool, and/or items made from fox fur? Your photos would seem to indicate the latter.

It's fox fur - a by-product of the sheep-farming industry.

Enlighten me please. How can a fox be a by product of sheep farming industry? They shoot them because otherwise they´d eat/kill sheep?

For more details, I guess you'd be better asking the OP.

Sorry DB, it was meant more for the OP but I did react to your post. So OP, I´d like to learn how the 2 get together in a sustainable way?

Well, I've heard of a wolf in sheep's clothing, but never a fox! Perhaps the OP would inform us of the source of obviously not sustainable, but hopefully traceable, fox fur!

OK Butchersblock, I'll try and make it simple for you. How does an individual who professes to be a sheep rearer, have products made of "sustainable" fox fur for sale?

OP no explanation from you. Why?

He shoots them because one of his jobs is the control of the local population of Patagonian foxes. Then, instead of chucking the carcasses away, he takes their fur and makes them into blankets and that.

Foxes are pests http://www.bromley.gov.uk/info/20004...ommon_pests/15

Sheep rearers thus kill the foxes to control this pestilence as one might kill rats. They have discovered that the carcasses have monetary value once stripped of the inner steaks and whatnot. They then swap the carcasses for said monetary value.

And sells them for CHF7500 a piece! Nice little earner DB.

The OP's silence is becoming deafening. Are we to assume that this person is profiting financially from killing wild animals?

Sure. He's in business. It's the market that decided the price, not the OP.

I don't think he's a regular poster. And yes, what's wrong with profiting from killing wild animals? I just had a delicious piece of muntjac the other day, wonderful crabapple and rosehip sauce. Lovely.
