Offer: Cheap bicycle service in Geneva

At 58 years old and after 30 years of working for bike shops, my friend Roger is trying to make a go of it with his own bicycle repair shop. His prices are way below what you'll pay anywhere else in Geneva, and he really could use the clients. Tell him "John" sent you. See attached photo for map.

He doesn't speak any English. He's open until 6pm and is closed at lunch, but you can call and he'll stay open: 0762846906

See attachment for map.

Re: Offer: Cheap bicycle service in Geneva

Hi, I couldnt work out the map very well. Please let me know if your friend is still there and where abouts is that in Geneva?

Would you have a rough idea how much it is to repair a back break on a bike? I bought it from someone and it needs a new back break wire as there is non there at the moment and that is not very safe.

Thanks for letting me know.....

You didn't give the name of the shop, or an address, and the map has two blue pins in it. Is your 'Roger' at either of those blue pins, or does he only give the address to people who phone his mobile beforehand? And we have to assume he only speaks French?

@Lizard_day, it depends whether it's just the brake cable which is missing, or whether the brake itself is not there. If you want an estimate over the phone, check beforehand whether you have a working brake lever on the handlebars, whether you have a working brake assembly at the back (moves freely, not rusted solid), and what kind of brake it is (disc / sidepull / centrepull). You'll probably need to take the bike to him for an accurate quote but if it's just a question of buying and fitting a new brake cable (and probably replacing the brake pads assuming they're worn) then it should be relatively cheap. Buying new brakes is obviously more. Anything that's written on your brakes would probably help him.

Wow thanks for the advice that is great. I keep thinking that the back brake would be expensive. It is just the wire (I think) so I will go and check but I agree with you which pin is the place? If it is the Servette one then that is good as I am just near by.

Let me know if you know anyone around Servette / petit Saconnex, thanks. Liz

Hi
I can create a web site page for your friend, for free, on one of my Dot Tel domains (.tel). If you like it, you could still get your own Internet Dot Tel domain. It is low cost, and low maintenance.

Further, I recommend, that he promotes his bike repair shop through Twitter and Facebook, and that he uses QR-Codes on sticker adverts.

Then he will get found, and will have loads of customers.

Here is one of my web pages:

No. He's now out of business. I suggest going to "Sold Sports" at 27 Grand Pré
