Re: Massage: Sport and Remedial

since there are a few massage therapists here, i thought i'd ask...

what type of massage would you recommend for someone (me) who has constantly VERY stiff neck and shoulders, to the point that it is a bit painful? (painful is not quite the right word, but i don't know how else to say it)

normal massages (the ones they give in beauty institutes for example) are nice and relaxing but not really help me.

anyone who could recommend the type of massage i would need? and even better, any places i could have it around bern? (i know there is some info about massage therapists on the forum, but they mostly concern institutes and i would rather have a recommendation of someone who tried a specific therapist)

thank you in advance!

Re: Massage: Sport and Remedial

As a natural therapist myself I'd advice you to find a therapist who has a holistic approach rather than a sport or relax massage practicien in a beauty salon.

The deep tissue massage can be just fine but a holistic therapeutic massage might be more remedial here. It all depands the history and a root cause of your stiffness.

You might have a chronical pain / post trauma reaction / stress muscles contraction or other. It's at the preliminary anamnesis when a good therapist look at the root cause to determine the most aproprite technique.

I have the practice in Geneva so can't help you in Bern. But have a look at www.ASCA.ch it's a Swiss assaciation of therapists and you can serch there by region.

Hello EF Members,

Have you ever tried a good therapeutic massage?
It can do miracles when you :
o lack vital energy; feel physical and mental fatigue;
o experience extensive stress, anxiety, inability to relax;
o have muscular and joint aches, back or shoulder pains,
o sleep-related problems, tension headaches;
o dysfunction of the immune or digestive systems;
o are pregnant or a new mum and feel your body needs comfort and some special attention….

You should try one of natural therapy techniques !!!

I'm a Natural Massage Therapist in Geneva registered at Santé Suisse-RCC-ASCA.

- POST_PARTUM massage regenerating and accelerating a return to fit form.
- DEEP_TISSUE massage for those who prefer a firm muscle work
