| | Re: The British Cheese Centre of Switzerland | Quote: | | | | | I might drop by next wednesday mike, just to pickup some godminster. it will all depend whether or not my job load decreases by then. | | | | | Godminster won't be here until the 29th. It'll be in the shop on the Friday and Saturday and I'll also take plenty to the Highland Games in Fehraltorf that same weekend.
Today at the shop Cashel Blue, the mild and very creamy Irish Blue is on special offer, CHF 39.00 / Kg instead of 59.00. E-mail me if you want any reserving, I only have about 5 Kg left. And, as usual, we'll be cracking open the ale in the afternoon.

| | Re: The British Cheese Centre of Switzerland | Quote: | | | | | Unfortunately I do not have the pleasure of knowing Mr Humphries personally. I just came across his name when researching information about Rachel Goat. The story about naming the cheese after his former fiancée had piqued my curiosity and I wanted to verify that said lady was indeed as toothsome as the product (that information I could not find, however). | | | | | Mr Graben, meet Mr Humphries (taken at last years British Cheese festival) The Rachel is on the left at the back, he also makes a cows milk version which I will get next time.

Hmmm ... maybe it would be good to drop in on my way to the Talacker, will you have any cheese in stock that goes well with jugs of Eichhof?

Just wanted to thank you to grumpygrapefruit for the excellent cheese that I purchased Wed. from the market in the HB. My boyfriend is rather picky with his cheese preferences but so far I'm 2 for 2
Sadly, it's already gone and I barely tried any so I will have to buy extra next time and hide it!
Everyone should try it - worth every penny/rappen | This user would like to thank abzurich for this useful post:

Agreed. We went to the Rappi Bier Fest on Saturday (forum won't let me post there) and tried the Cornish Yarg. New for us, and definitely one that we'll buy again.

i'll be down there tomorrow chasing the customers fm the other stalls selling inferior cheese - and guiding them nicely to yours... | | | | | Thanks Miss Otter... but I have to say, the Zurich Oberland sheeps cheese is fantastic. The stall next to us sells excellent home made humus and there is a Japanese lady selling Sushi plates - I do have a good lunch at this market.
We're back again this Wednesday with our 2 best sellers: Cropwell Bishop Shropshire Blue and Godminster BIO waxed cheddar - that's the one in the burgundy wax - if you've had them before I am sure you have very fond memories of the ocassion!
We will also have some excellent chutney's, jams, teas and crackers and some very scrummy Cornish clotted cream fudge. That's if I can stop eating it myself.
The market is open from 10.00 - 20.00, if you come after work and I'm not on the stall, you will find me in the Federal beer bar with some other EFer's | The following 2 users would like to thank grumpygrapefruit for this useful post:

. | | | | | A guy in a kilt walked past the stall, I asked him if he'd like to try some Isle of Mull cheddar - he was amazed! He was over to watch Falkirk play Vaduz in a football friendly the next day and we had a great chat. Half an hour later he came back with a beer for me. You meet some great people at these markets!

Tomorrow we will have Cropwell Bishop Stilton and Lincolnshire Poacher Vintage Cheddar. I will also have some Godminster and Black Bomber cheddars "under the counter" for those in the know |

I do not want to sound obstinate, Mr Grapefruit, but I was wondering whether large quantities of Rachel Goat had indeed made it into your stock, as per your 16.07 posting. I am concerned by the absence of any mention of the cheese in your last messages. A status update would be much appreciated.

On my trip over last week all went well apart from the courier company delivering 100 Kg of my gourmet cheeses from small produces in the west country to me in London called me to say they had lost my consignment. They found it again at 4pm at which point I was queuing at Dover for customs export documents on all my other cheeses. Needless to say, Ms Rachel was in the lost batch. I do have another washed rind goat from Sussex which I will be cutting this weekend and I will report back once I have tasted it - it certainly tasted good on the farm.
I will be back early next month for more (and it will be a "fresh" batch)

Hello,
Reading this post, I realize I visited your stand at the Highlander games. Your cheese is absolutely delicious ! and the oatcakes add just the right touch. As for the brandy butter and clotted fudge mmmm (but you didn't keep those calories )
Really nice, lovely selection.
Thank you | This user would like to thank Sky for this useful post:
