Are you at the HB today grumpy? I am sure your stall is there, but are you physically there?

It's the last Zurich HB Wednesday market today before the Christmas market opens and my charming and good looking wing man is down there with loads of 200 gr Godminster Cheddar babies, both round and heart shaped, perfect for Christmas prezzies (if you can keep your hands off them). They both have BBF dates into January and February. Plenty of Stilton, Wensleydale, Red Leicester, Rachel, White Nancy and Swaledale too
He also has Sam Smiths organic Ale and Imperial Stout as well as the usual oatcakes and chutneys. At the Viadukt Markthalle I also have mini waxed Isle of Mull cheddars, both plain and smoked garlic, both also good for Christmas.
If you're around Bern, I'll be at the English Church Christmas market this Friday evening and Saturday morning.

| | Re: The British Cheese Centre of Switzerland | Quote: | | | | | How long does Godminster last in the heart shaped wax, when its unopened and refrigerated? | | | | | The British govt suggests a 4 month life from waxing, the current batch of hearts has a Feb date on it. TBH though, that 4 months is what they consider safe for the wax to stay intact.
A small hole in the wax would create some bluing in the cheese near the hole, but in 3 years I haven't had that happen once that i know of And some peeps would like that, although not you of course. I did keep a few cheeses for 12 months in the fridge and they improved over that time.
BTW, try crumbling some Godminster over pasta tossed in butter and chilli jam, it is delicious |

Anything blue or green is marked by the devil, and thus will be exorcheesed with burning flame.
If the goverment reccommends a 4 month wax life... then I think its a bit too late to worry about that side of things considering it's now November, heh.
Thanks for the tip about the pasta, sounds yum.

We have loads of the waxed Godminster cheddars (now our best selling cheese) in stock, 200 and 400gr rounds and hearts as well as 1 & 2 kg rounds and Stilton including 200gr pots and 2kg babies. These and some Christmas tasting packs are available in our online shop as well as at the Viadukt market in Zurich.
If you want multiple gift packs for clients and colleagues etc we can do special prices but get your orders in soon. The web shop will prob be closed early next week too.
We'll also be at the Rapperswil Christmas market this weekend and at the Luzern one next weekend.
If you'd like an informal and interesting venue for a works drink do in Zurich we can cater for small groups at the market at either the main bar or the new oyster bar.
Finally, a selection of our blue cheeses will be on the Viadukt restaurant menu very soon and a Stilton scooper will be on the bar.
Thanks to all my EF customers who have kept me ridiculously busy this year and have a great Christmas!

We're at the Luzern Venite Christmas market in Kappelplatz all weekend with our usual offers and Hot Toddies to keep out the cold. Today we will also have Clotted Cream there.
The Viadukt is open on Sunday too from 11-6, loads of Stilton and cheddars (and a little Waterloo left) and we've just had a very late delivery of Cornish Clotted Cream Fudge. Special offer this weekend only, they have zero calories.

The Viadukt market is open today until 5.00 and I have a few half baby Stilton "Scoopers" on offer for CHf 40.00 each (down from 55.00, min weight 1.1 Kg) and Montgomery's and Westcombe cheddars are down to 4.50 / 100gr, down from 5.90 and 5.50.
I also have a few Christmas and Boxing day fruit chutneys from Hawkshead down to CHf 5.00 each from 9.90.
There are also some special offer tasting packs for delivery next week in our web shop.
Have a great New Year everyone, and thanks for making 2010 a bumper year for us!
EDIT: Forgot to mention, I also have some British style Back Bacon left!

So, I'm probably the last person to realize this, but the British Cheese Centre at the Viadukt is fantastic! Went there today and was charmed by both the selection and friendly people (who were even nice to my totally crazy toddler).
Well done and well worth the trip! | The following 3 users would like to thank swiss_in_training for this useful post: | |

Thanks for the feedback!
We did a roaring trade yesterday selling "Scottish Fondue" kits. 300 - 400gr chunks of Isle of Mull cheddar (some Westcombe cheddar if you want the fondue less spicy - in fact you can also add some cheaper Emmentall too if you're on a budget), Bellhaven Stout (instead of white wine) and miniatures of Glenfiddich (instead of Kirsch). Nice feedback already on our Facebook Fan page (from a Swiss chap!). The IOM is so spicy you do not need garlic with this one!
A new delivery arrives Tuesday with plenty more Godminster cheddars including hearts, get yours quickly for Valentines day as I am sure they will sell out again soon.
