And yes, you are very much worthy of it!
We also have Lanark Blue from Scotland at the HB today as well as Isle of Mull extra mature Cheddar. The Lanark is often described as the Scottish Roquefort and amongst my Swiss customers as the "Kilt Lifter". But the cheese we have today is younger and is made with summer milk making it much gentler. If you think that you don't like sheep or blue cheeses, this may change your mind.
And use the Isle of Mull to make the Scottish Fondue, with black beer and whisky.

Will the IOM with smoked garlic be making a reappearance anytime soon? That stuff was the dog's nadgers.

I can perhaps find some time to saunter up to the Viadukt in the next days. Otherwise, next week's market?

I'm in Winterthur today at the gourmets paradise Markthalle Trivisiano at Marktgasse 25. I'll be here until 4pm giving a free tasting of about 8 of our best sellers. Be sure to say hello!

Liked the idea of the cheddar raclette and fondue. Will have to try that some time this winter.

Some of our cheese is now in Zug at the L'Ultimo Bacio wholefood shop. It opened today on Mettalstrasse 9a and is the biggest of their 3 stores. The other 2 are in Wipkingen (Zurich) and Winterthur. All 3 have our Cropwell Bishop BIO Stilton and our best selling Godminster BIO Cheddar.
The new one in Zug also has a coffee bar and all 3 have pretty extended opening hours (Wipkingen is open 7.00 - 23.00 6 days a week!). Be sure to say hello from me if you do go in.

Do you think Papa Goose will be welcome with all those American Women?
Or do think you can handle this one alone, Grumps?

By the way, i was too lazy to make the usual sauce out of the Shropshire Blue bought yesterday, for our tortelloni today, so just crumbled it over the top.
This was possibly even better!

Today is the last Zurich HB market this year and we'll be having a drink at our stall from about 6.30, if we get told off, so be it (I doubt it as the manageress will be half cut by then). We'll have loads of Gaymers Cider as well as some Sam Smiths and some Batemans Dark Lord. Please come by and say hello!
At the Viadukt we now stock Skeffington Vintage Ports - Skeffington is a very small Port house and we have bought the entire available stock for Switzerland, and it's selling fast so stock up soon for Christmas.
We have the 2000, 2003, 2007 and 2009 vintages, full bottles are from 69.50 - 82.50 and halves from 44.00 - 48.00. 2003 was an exceptional year for Port and the Skeffington is fantastic. We normally have one of the vintages open on Saturday afternoon for tasting and we will be doing a couple of major tasting days leading up to Christmas where you can try them all as well as our other ports. |

Our web shop has been updated with new stock including some great value Christmas Tasting Packs from SFr 35.00 - 120.00 and you can order individual cheeses on the main shop page here
We are also selling a basic range of cheeses together with Port and our famous Hot Toddies at Rapperswil Christmas Market and at the Venite Christmas market in Luzern (the small one in the Kappelplatz, not in the main station), both markets are open until Sunday.
For a full range of cheeses though come to the Viadukt market in Zurich (tramstop Damweg for trams 4 and 13... also plenty of short term parking down the side of the market). We are open until 8pm from now until the 23rd December... Sunday 18th until 6pm and Saturday 24th until 4pm.
I have about 40 different artisan British cheeses in stock, our usual best sellers including the Godminster cheddar (loads of hearts in stock this year) with plenty of specials including:
Montgomery's and Keane's cheddars, Lincolnshire Poacher Vintage, Hawes mature Wensleydale (and some great fruitcake to go with it), Cornish Yarg, Stinking Bishop, 3 different Stiltons from Cropwell Bishop including 200gr and 350gr cheeses in ceramic pots (these arrive Friday), Appleby's Cheshire, from North Yorkshire comes Yorkshire Blue, Buffalo Blue, Monks Folly (a mini Dolls House Wensleydale), Katy's White Lavender (sheeps cheese with err Lavender), Rydale, Old Yorke... and a few more I think..., Coolea and Cashel Blue from Ireland, Isle of Mull raw milk cheddar (also mini ones in wax including with smoked garlic) - the Isle of Mull BTW makes an amazing Scottish Fondue with black beer and whisky....
I also have a big range of excellent Ports, priced from 16.50 for half bottles of tawny up to about 90.00 for some Skeffington Vintages.... together with a ceramic pot of Stilton, these make great gifts of course....
And tomorrow night (Thursday 15th) I am hosting drinks at my stall for EFers, we can drink here until late and I'll have some excellent white and red wines going cheap.
I think that's all for now, if you'd like special gift packs making up for clients or friends etc, get in touch.
Thanks everyone here for supporting us in our 4th year! | The following 4 users would like to thank grumpygrapefruit for this useful post: | |

Woohoo, Wensleydale time at last!
Is it available at the Luzern market as well? Otherwise we'll be heading up to Zurich, weather permitting. |

I used to enjoy wine cheese spread in a small container with different types of whole grain crackers...Is that a British innovation or American?...I never see it here en Suisse
