That's the prettiest looking chunk of cheese I ever saw!
What's the brown 'wrap' made of? Chocolate?!

'Godminsters' sounds rather religious though.

Its wax, we had some of these at christmas, very nice indeed

not sure if grumpy is on his way to england already but was informed by him yesterday that he will be bringing back some heart shaped godminsters
i'm heading down next weds (farmers market HB) to buy a few myself. Especially appropriate for valentines day - incase you were all wondering what to give him/her on the 14th
(roses are sooo 2009 )

Thanks for reminding me Miss Otter. I have included this heart in my Valentines Day Tasting Pack, which also includes the Duddleswell BIO sheeps cheese (really sweet) and the delicious Rachel Goat. A jar of Apple & Lavender Jelly finishes the selection, as fragrant, but more tasty, than roses!

You can also buy the hearts individually for CHf 14.00 each here and at next Wednesdays HB market, and from next Wednesday at Jelmoli too. I will also be in Jelmoli on the Friday and Saturday next week presenting 9 of our best sellers. Come along and try them all - I will be near the Moevenpick wine shop and they will have plenty of wine open to try too.

In the on-line shop this month I have about 15 of our 29 current cheeses, if you'd like any of the others please just e-mail me your selection and we'll post them with payment slips.

The Sparkenhoe Vintage is my cheese of the month, it's just been released and is not even on sale in the UK yet! I also have a proper "crumbly" Lancashire for the first time and the gold medal winning smoked Lincolnshire Poacher.

Please, please pretty please how can I send you all my money for some of the Lancashire crumbly?

It actually arrives Tuesday evening and I'll have it at the next day's market in Zurich. But you're not too far from us if you wanted to collect some, we also have some of our cheeses on sale at a deli in Sargans which is even nearer (also next month we should have an outlet in Vaduz). If you'd like to collect some from there, let me know as they won't be stocking Lancashire but I can leave some for you. I guess your a Lancy so I'd value your opinion on it!

Re: The British Cheese Centre of Switzerland

Loads of new cheese arrived yesterday and I'll have a lot of them at the HB market today from 10 -8.

Lancashire Crumbly, smoked Poacher, Double Barrel Poacher (extra matured), Vintage Sparkenhoe, Exmoor & Somerset Blue's, the new UK made Monterey Jack and especially for this weekend the Godminster hearts. King Richard III Wenslydale is also back.

I'll also be in the Jelmoli Gourmet Factory Friday & Saturday from 11 - 5 doing a free tasting of our 9 best sellers including the hearts. See you there!

Re: The British Cheese Centre of Switzerland

I finally lost my British cheese firginity today - to Lannock (spelling?) and ('second') Cheddar. Yum-yum-yum ... Lannock on a slice of sourdough bread. Thanks, Grumpy.

(No cheesy heart for me, thanks. It's for the youngsters.)

Re: The British Cheese Centre of Switzerland

Nice to see you all again today (and Argus, you are a youngster!), despite the heavy snow. I can't believe I almost sold out of the Wensleydale after just 1 day, I thought I had ordered enough for 6 weeks!

I'm at Jelmoli Gourmet Factory in ZH again this Friday & Saturday from 11 - 5 if you couldn't make it today, still plenty of Godminster Hearts left but I guess they will sell out by Saturday so e-mail me to reserve yours.

Finally, the Monterey Jack got the thumbs up from all the American visitors today and will now be on sale at Peace Foods from next week (they also stock American style Red Cheddar).

Possibly in May I think - but the Wednesday HB market is pretty easy to get to, get off the train in Zurich and walk 200m or so - your nose will direct you

Re: The British Cheese Centre of Switzerland

Good news for British cheese lovers in Liechtenstein as the fantastic gourmet food hall, Ospelt, in Schaan will be stocking 8 of our cheeses from next week together with oat cakes and Hawkshead chutneys. The cheese buyer is a local woman who's family makes cheese in Toggenburg - she described our Rachel as the best goats cheese she has ever tasted.

The store has great fish, meat, wine, a coffee and wine bar and cheese of course. We'll be doing an in-store promotion for them there for 2 days in mid March, I'll post the dates once they have confirmed.
