English language sailing!!

Dear forum,

Some of you asked about sailing lessons in English. I can prepare you for both the theory test and practical sailing test through English.

Due to a change in my working pattern (day job), I will not be able to start new students in 2009.

Perhaps 2010...

Re: English language sailing!!

To which test do you refer? Is there a boater's safety course required before day-sailing or something?

I taught sailing at summer camps for a few years, and spent some time in Florida sailing and diving. I am curious what is required to take a boat out here.

Have a look on the transport forum from a couple of weeks ago - I started a thread there about getting the Swiss ticket

Re: English language sailing!!

www.hoz.ch offer the theory and practice in English - I took the theory course there (in German) and it was useful.

Re: English language sailing!!

I am defenitely interested in the English language sailing course!

I can speak german (sort of) but I am not sure of how it would be like to take the course and prepare for the D permit (I think that his the right one for lake sailing) doing the course in German.

Is the theory test also in German only? I have no idea at the moment.

Also what would it be like to do the course in German and then sit the test in English (if that were an option)? I would have all the nautical terms in my head in German!
Seems like a reciepe for a disaster of linguistic confussion!

Any info on how this may work would be appreciated.
