Re: American Dental Hygienist in Zürich

Hello everyone,

Since the last reply to this thread seems to be a few years old, I would like to give a "shout-out" to Susan - a business woman AND mother Theresa in-one . I have seen Susan twice now - I have had such a nice time that I am thinking about making an appointment next month just to share a coffee with her . No, on a serious note, Susan takes so much care with my teeth, explaining everything she can and showing me all of it with her jazzy camera. Nothing is too much trouble, and it is clear how much care, joy and pride she takes in her work. This may just be the greatest teeth-cleaning experience you will ever have. Thank you lovely Susan!! (and see you next time) x

Re: American Dental Hygienist in Zürich

Good morning,
The price of dentistry, in Switzerland, is based upon a tax point system. Depending upon your location and specialty, the charges may vary a bit. Also, if you need anything extra, like x-rays, fluoride varnish, or Air Flow polishing, there might be some extra charges. Also, depending upon the condition of your teeth and gums, the time needed can vary.

However, the basic charge for one hour at Bahnhofplatz Zürich is 172 chf. At Bahnhofplatz Lachen ( where I also work), the price is 151 chf.

Although I perfectly understand our need to shop prices, the best way to avoid unnecessary dental costs is through prevention by a PROFESSIONAL DENTAL HYGIENIST ( always ask for a real DH in Switzerland).

Many thanks to all for kind remarks. You have been amazing patients and friends throughout the years. It is my pleasure to treat you.

Re: American Dental Hygienist in Zürich

Hi everyone,

Just a shout-out and update to this thread.

I've been a faithful client of Susan's (at Cosmodent in Zurich) for 3 years now and have had the best experience. Last week, I went for my annual teeth cleaning and learned that Susan is currently doing a kind of job-share arrangement with another American dental hygienist, Marlena Maizar. My appointment, which was scheduled on very short notice, was with Marlena, and she did a phenomenal job!

Like Susan, Marlena is a very pleasant and genial person who is incredibly thorough and helpful when it comes to teeth and mouth hygiene. She comes from Northern Cali, is married to a Swiss guy, and has a wealth of dental knowledge (we talked about the history of the Sonicare toothbrush and its technology extensively).

Just wanted to share my excitement about having TWO American dental hygienists at this dental practice! Feels just like home!

GREAT! So, glad to know you were well treated! And, great to know I can leave town and my wonderful patients are in good hands. It's good to be back in town. I missed you...:-)
