I work for six months in Basel as a self-employed English teacher and tutor from April to October every year. The problem is that it most students want to learn English for the whole year, and want continuity.

I am a native English speaker and a California credentialed social science teacher. Presently, I have a contract with the International School Basel as a cover teacher, but I am seeking more work. In the past, I have tutored friends In English while I have been in Switzerland and I believe I can become a successful English teacher. I'm moving to Basel from Colorado in the US in October. I have a couple of bachelor's degrees and really no idea what I am going to do while I'm their. My girlfriend suggested that I tutor english. It sounds like the timing may be good, but let me know a little more about the job and if you think I am qualified.

Is it tough working in the international school(s) in town? I'm working on my master's and taught in Japan, but just officially as an "assistant" (ALT for 15 months) or in language schools (3 years).
