Especially when the earings are a big round fake diamond!
My point exactly , who do they think they are..is it cool because some footballer does it?

To use Bart Simpsons words " Millhouse, my mom wears earrings. Do you think she's cool?

(sorry mam,you rock )

It's ok to get in touch with "lady side " but you have to know when to stop !

Here is another one who thinks sporting long hair/pony tail and earings are cool

and no, i won't say that to his face

Seriously, why do you do it? There's half a dozen here at work and it looks truly and utterly ridiculous.
Is it simply to disguise that old friend the Mullet you can't bring yourself to have cut off?

From observations at work over the years, there seems to be a correlation between the phrases "Software Engineer" and "Pony-tail".

According to the women who have also worked in these establishments, you could add the phrases "probable psychopathic tendencies", "he gives me the creeps!" ,"where's the bucket." and "Not in a million years".

I'm just saying.

So who's got a pony-tail here then?

I think my judgment of this is clouded by living in Daytona Beach for faaaaaaaar too long... I LIKE guys with ponytails, regardless of age.

Of course, this depends upon the rest of the package though. Some guy looking all "preppy" but with a ponytail looks funny but if he seriously looks like he could hop on a Harley (or seems the type to participate in medieval reenactments), it's just fine.
You should see me in my suit of battle armor.

He has a woman's butt! Round, shape and perky like we love. Nice on a woman, not so much on him.

Re: Middle-aged men with ponytails

Ponytails = WTF. Seriously there are some aspects of Switzerland that are so stuck in the 80ies, it would be funny if it wasn't so sad (like a really good mullet - cracks me up every time). It is like they are flipping the bird to evolution, I got to 1986 and i am staying here!! I think they also work as Radio Music directors, I have yet to find a radio station in Switzerland that is not a perfect match for a ponytail or mullet wearing ------ (add your own description)

Re: Middle-aged men with ponytails

I have long hair which during the week I wear in a pony tail (is 38 middle age ?). The pony tail is the weekday version of my weekend persona:

Re: Middle-aged men with ponytails

Let people express themselves irrespective of their age. What is the beef if someone wants to have a pony tail? I probably would prefer company of someone like that than a slimy sleaze ball salesman type dressed all slick.

Re: Middle-aged men with ponytails

The guy who took my ticket on the train last week had two big gold earrings. And then there was the guy on the garbage truck with a subtle sort of mohawk - it was black on the sides and grey to green in the middle, just a little higher. Unique looks, both of them.

In the '80's I used to see a lot of short, balding men with ponytails, porsches and expensive clothing around NYC... I guess it was a look... all sorts of inadequacies going on there.

Not too fond of ponytails, although one of my favorite comedians - George Carlin used to have one. So I don't know... there are so many worse things....
