For what it’s worth I also think there are plenty of women with long here who could benefit from a more flattering hairstyle but as I said that’s just my opinion.
.
True. And I really dislike white or grey long hair, it just doesn't look good. Women who ditched dyeing their hair and let it grow are quite brave and of course it's their business, aesthetically though....it's a different matter. But each to their own. As you said, for both men and women, it's a matter of preferences.

Grey hair can look great. What looks strange is when people have grey hair, dye it bright red and then you can see the grey roots

PS: grey hair and yes, stopped colouring my hair

I've just remembered the rat's tail, common in the UK at least in the mid-80s. Fortunately my parents never let me have one
You needed your parents to supervise your hair choice?

My parents so let me make my own "mistakes". Learning steps. I think I got the hair dyes somewhere still.

Re: Middle-aged men with ponytails

Yesterday in Globus Bern, I saw a woman with very short magenta hair, like a skull cap, surrounded by a black fringe of longer hair. That is the best way I can describe it.

At some point, dying becomes futile and unless you have lots of money, the upkeep is a time and money sink. So, longish gray hair it is.

Like men with ponytails.....I guess it depends.

I'm sure it can look great on some people, mind, but not for everyone. My mom tried in her 50s and I nagged her to colour it till she did start doing it again to get rid of me (I guess)...

I had to google her. Yes, she does look pretty with long white hair, especially when it's coiffed in a certain way. It is a bit surprising, originally (I mean in her youth) it appears she was a cute, authentic brunette, but somehow white hair fit her even when way younger than now. So yes, again, it depends.

Rubbish.

I had a girlfriend with long grey hair, she looked great!

She was 25.

Got some neighbors both with long grey hair, 40ish, they also both look good.

Being short is not something people can do anything about, itís genetically determined.
Why do you specify women? Doesnít it matter to you if a man lets himself go?

Indeed but my point still stands.
He conveniently missed off the men and women part at the end of the post he was parodying.
