Snowball harrassment

Would the police do anything about constant snow ball throwing at windows, which are quite old and could break. Or would they just ignore. The kids are doing it from school property at night. Do I have any recourse?

Re: Snowball harrassment

Take a photo with flash - hopefully, the flash will scare them off, and if not, show it ( the picture with the date and time stamp ) to the school's principal. That way, at least he / she has been notified, and would have to bear responsibility.

Re: Snowball harrassment

Our local school continually tells kids not to throw snowballs at cars and windows, and any caught doing so are punished. They've had the police in to speak to the kids after complaints from motorists.

Still goes on though, year after year, snowfall after snowfall.

Re: Snowball harrassment

DUring the last spell of snow, there was a load "Splaaaat" and a snowball exploded on the floor of my lounge. I was very impressed with the accurate aim and the velocity of the throw that swept aside my curtain as it soared up from the street. In a moment of clarity, I realised what a deprived childhood I had, growing up in a snowless region Downunder. :-D

Re: Snowball harrassment

My car was hit twice in our street with snowballs. Last time I turned around, got out of the car, walked up to the area where they came from, waited a little bit in silence (they thought I left, hahaha!) and then I talked to them.
I told the kids that this is very dangorous, the car could be broken, I couldhit someone, and next time I call the police (which is 3 corners away) and I want to talk to their parents.
At that time they seemed to understand it and they were ashamed.
I hope they really finish it....

Oh, and expats say the Swiss are grumpy.

You're suppose to make a snowball and throw one back.

Re: Snowball harrassment

Snowballs at cars - that's a no no. Snowballs that break windows (they'd have to be pretty flimsy windows! - or have snowballs with rocks/stones in them)

Didn't you ever get up to any mischief when you were a kid?

On a serious note - why dont you just go out and tell them off sternly to stop it? At most, you'll get a snowball in your face.
