| | Why does everyone have mullets on Swiss TV?
Every man on tv, no matter the language spoken, is about 50-60 years old with a mullet and singing with a super trashy 20-something woman.
What is the deal with that? | The following 7 users would like to thank baselboo for this useful post: | | This user groans at baselboo for this post: | |

What is the deal with that? | | | | | They think its cool, it is called " Das Hasselhof Mullet " here, combine it with " Das Beckham" earings and voila, babemagnet ! ( or a douche..pick what you want..)
All cool people have it, David Hasselhof, MacGyver,Mell Gibson..yes back in the 80's but someone must keep it alive !
Dj Bobo had one for a while.. still don't like him but none the less, he supports a good mullet.

What is the deal with that? | | | | | The Swiss may think that they are sophisticated but in reality they are simply boogans.

And for the ladies, there is the "Poodle".
Pretty similar to the guys' Mullet, but permed and fluffy on top, long and wavy at the back.
Mostly dyed red or black.
Lovely.

Lovely. | | | | | Must be the deutchie part, I am not sure why but this is very popular over at ours, still the bedhead... |

What is the deal with that? | | | | | While the Swiss generally dress well, sadly many haven't yet mastered the art of a decent haircut. I got glared at by a small group of young guys the other week because one of them had such a ridiculously horrific mullet that I literally couldn't help looking and laughing as I passed, it made Pat Sharpe (remember Fun House?) look cutting edge. I mostly see them on the Balkan crowd as it seemsto be a bit of a fashion thing for them, but native Swiss are guilty of it too.
As for Swiss TV... well, it's beyond awful, enough said. | Quote: | | | | | Must be the deutchie part, I am not sure why but this is very popular over at ours, still the bedhead... | | | | | It's very rare I advocate any woman cutting their hair short (I love long shiny hair, very sexy and feminine), but she looks great. Helps that she has a very pretty face though I guess.

It's the 80's. I wonder if it ever was anything else, though. Mullets all the way since early 80's?
I keep seeing either the soccer/hockey mullets or Tom Cruise. I am not sure what's worse.

But isn't a mullet also a fish?

However, on the long note, I went to have my hair cut at home 2 days ago, I was afraid a bit in CH, it costs a lot plus I am not a big 80's fan, but the hairdresser refused to chop my hair, darnit. Now I am again stuck with this
It is nice, I agree, most women with long hair enjoy it, but after while, it gets boring, you sit on it constantly, on the toilet, it gets caught everywhere, shopping carts, slammed in the car door, kid pulls it, all the brushing work out.. It's work having it on your head, honest. Works ok during gigs, hahah, true true.
Some mullets are manly, there, I said it. 1 outa 100 looks alrite.

It's weird, all the guys I know that used to have hair down to their ass are now shaved or buzz-cut.
I guess that since I was normally buzz-cut as a kid, I still like mine long (shoulder length max).
Probably the only reason I cut it is because my daughter is doing it as an apprenticeship, and she does it for free! (actually, I give her the money I'd normally give to the hairdresser, but I still get it cut more often than the previous annual cut)
Tom

Thanks in advance. | | | | | You don't want an insight into the life of a long haired girl? That thing never happens, I swear. Most annyoing is picking up the long hair off the carpet, etc. But it heats, like a fur coat, nice.
Tom, having a daughter as an apprentie for hairdressing, that's too cool. Ask her what she thinks of mullets..? Is it in style? Or emo? Emo mullets are rather...strange. I like buzz. Crew cut.

I have a friend who has a mullet. He is really into heavy metal music etc. His hair is short on top and then sort of frizzes out at the back. It is awful, I have been quite honest and informed him that it is so horrible etc. He refuses to cut it.
Pity, because he is a good looking guy and would be even better looking with a good haircut. But I guess it is his hair and he can have it as he likes!! Sometimes he wears it in a ponytail which is ok.
