| | Re: Impossible to find jeans! | Quote: | | | | | My biggest problem is my butt! No matter how thin/skinny I get, I have this brazilian butt. I have to fix a lot of my pants on the waist to have a proper fitting. I have the hour shape but because of that butt, I need a different size on the bottom then the top (bikinis have to be bought separatly from top to bottom) I don't have large hips so most of the trousers have the extra side hip curves that make me look like I have extra pockets!
In store, I can't find clothes that fix my butt because of this. They do pants with hips but no butt space. So when I buy bigger size to fit my backside, the waist is too big! Great! | | | | | Not sure if this will suit you, but a friend of mine works for Levi's head office. She's advised that they have a new type of jeans with a 'Curve id'. Apparently they promise that they can fit any shape with jeans that are both a good fit and flattering, even for those of us that are rather well endowed in the butt department Next time I'm in the US she's going to get me fitted so I'll be able to let you know if they can fit someone with a big butt and smaller waist | The following 3 users would like to thank nic80 for this useful post:

Levis are great for women who have slimmer legs, at least that was the only brand my "even has skinny legs for a model" model ex-flatmate would buy.

I love jeans but I avoid them.. simples. Have only one pair (Esprit) that I wear in summer with flipflops. I hate the fact that all jeans are way too big at the waist, while the pockets and zipper (may buttons be banished !!) add useless tough fabric to your hips.
I'll scavenge the shops till I drop for dark pants with noooo pockets and a zipper on the side and straight legs (for a really nice trim figure, try a pair with the zipper in the back.. if you can find them)
It's an eye soar to see too tight jeans and low slung jeans with slim fit legs on the average female. Unless you're a teen, or very slim, nobody looks good when the fabric cuts into you and banishes your waist.

I could actually take the fat of my butt and injected it into my boobs! That would be awesome! Recycling!

Thing with my figure is is that I'm short wasted and wide. So from the front I look huge and from the side I look like a stick! Not very eye-candyish.

The first thing I look at when I buy a new pair of jeans is how the pockets look like. If placed well, they can make your bottom look awesome. | The following 3 users would like to thank zymogen for this useful post:

(In my case) And for girls with a flat butt, pockets gives illusion of a bit more in the area...

By the way, I found out years ago that the trousers with double opening (not on the center front but on each leg) like the picture below is absolutely wonderful to give an impression of flat stomach! |

I totally feel your pain... I have the same problems and usually my solution is to just buy jeans in america (they have ALL sorts of sizes there :P) but more realistically, the best pants ive found here in switzerland that are at least a little bit stylish is at C&A. For "nice" dress pants or something, H&M have a roomy selection but my thighs just do not fit into their jeans!

| | Re: Impossible to find jeans! | Quote: | | | | | I may have a look in Esprit (although due to the aforementioned lack of funds I was hoping to go a little cheaper), but maybe they'll have something in the sales. Either that or I could lose some weight... but that could take a while | | | | | Try OVERStock.COM! They ship to Switzerland and include tax and duties on the price, so you don't have to deal with invoices after receipt of your items.

| | Re: Impossible to find jeans! | Quote: | | | | | I did do a search of various combinations of words, but (very surprinsingly) found nothing of this sort of thread.
So, I'm not the smallest of people, but my BMI is within the healthy range. It's ludicrous that I'm a "medium" in the UK, but it's equally ludicrous that I'm considered at least "XL" here (although this is better than Spain, where I'm XXL or even XXXL). I understand it in Spain, they're all so so tiny, but here? A) People are much taller and b) I see a lot more large women (I mean that as a euphamism) than in Spain (although obviously a hell of a lot less than the UK). However, I find it really difficult to find jeans that fit me at all. Sizes in normal shops rarely go up to my size (42 or 44 if I want a really loose pair, which sometimes I do for fat days), and when they do they're marked XL. Am I going insane, or do I just have a really skewed perspective of how big I should be? I mean, I think I could definitely stand to lose a bit, but I really don't think I'm XL, and it's really demoralising to go to a shop and be told you're a massive fatty. I'm sure people have noticed this before, but it's become really apparent to me recently, as I've been mostly window shopping due to lack of funds, but am really, really after a new pair of jeans, as all my other pairs are a bit knackered. I don't really want to go back out to the shops now | | | | | Hi yeah I agree the selection of clothing here ain't the best compared to the variety in UK and as you say the sizes are not so giving so not sure if you have any family in UK but before I've bought from ebay UK then had it posted here, bargain. Last dress £10 in ebay bid for a marriage, which I wore here to my brother-in-laws marriage and actually felt a bit overdressed but lot's of people commented on it and I certainly were't paying 300 francs for a dress in C & A.
