Re: Status + Reputation = Honour?

I buy as well as seek items for free on this forum. Never sold, but did try to give away pre-loved stuff ( non-advertised ).

Buying / getting for free - I alway communicate and give out my ( first ) name. mobile number, where I live ( town with post code ) etc. That way the seller/giver has the correct information and we can communicate by alternative means ( as I am on the road quite often ), ensuring no one is caused any inconvenience eg a missed appointment. I would reconfirm the item and price due from me by SMS to avoid a misunderstanding. Meeting members in real life has been exciting and thusfar never a bad experience. I am quite sure I paid everyone on the spot BTW.

Giving away - hmm .. some had the audacity to request free delivery ( especially to different Cantons ) - the others were grateful for the items, that was good enough for me.

Just my two rappen.

Re: Status + Reputation = Honour?

I also bought stuff from forum members and had no problem at all. Mostly i paid in advance but sometimes i get the goods and then pay. It can happen. Never more than 50chfs though except if i have done a transaction with the person before. You cant be too careful (as you learned the hard way)

On the other hand though .. i have been promised home made cookies and still did not get anything

You'll let us know when said evil-doer has been slain into submission?

You can get more with a nice word and a gun than you can with a nice word...

Re: Status + Reputation = Honour?

There seems to be a lot of pre-judging going on. As far as I can see, only one side has emerged. I don't doubt the OP for one minute, but I would like to hear both sides first.

I never wanted this to be a witch hunt but was frustrated at the lack of progress after several PMs.

I have this afternoon recieved a PM from the member and the matter has been settled. It seems that Dec/Jan were financially stressful (as we all know).

A message to me stating the reason for the delay would of been appreciated instead of promises to pay and for it not to be followed through.

I'm a reasonable person and totally understand how far the Franc doesn't spread at time. My advice to anyone else who finds themselves caught short is to be honest and upfront and I'm sure a suitable solution can be find for everyone.
