I'll tell you what it is - there is one who will never be satisfied. Back home, smoking is banned at bus stops, stadiums, restaurants - the lot. It has got to be one of the strictest non-smoking laws in the world - you cant even smoke within a 5m radius of any office building. I dont have a problem with that because I know its a disgusting anti social habit. A couple of us were smoking outside an open air restaurant once and in my opinion, a safe distance from the tables but a non-smoker still complained about our smoke interfering with his lunch. | Quote: | | | | | NOOOOOOOO! Nothing worst than standing in the Pram section of the bus and nowhere else to escape from this horrible smell coming from people's breath after they breath out the last Oh necessary! cigarette puff they had to have in the door on the bus when stepping in!

The majority of smokers are considerate people who don't want to be a nuisance to others, but some are a real pain and just brainless. Smoking next to kiddos or pregnant women is a no no.
I generally don't mind smokers on train platforms because there's enough fresh air. But a couple of days ago there was this guy at the metro station, standing in the door of the metrotrain with his cigarette! | The following 3 users would like to thank zymogen for this useful post: | |

Ah the bi-annual smoking thread. With the customary smoker caught in the headlights.
Even with the ban from last May, we still grumble. Just try to remember how it was just 12 months ago here and be thankful.
I dislike smoke as much as the next person (if not more), but I also appreciate the long hard battle to get where we are today - albeit still about 25 years behind the rest of the western world...

My apartment has a non-smoking area. It's called the balcony!
And, no, I don't smoke (at least not cigarettes, a good cigar is nice on occasion though), but my daughters do, as has every woman I've ever dated.

as a previous long time non-smoker, I agree with this, so now whenever I smoke in such a place I make sure to get a good distance away from anyone, and anywhere that someone might want to stand (wind effects also always considered). But there's always some people who seems to go out of their way to walk over and stand right in my personal space. I'm barely used to people crowding personal space as it is, but when I find a nice secluded area to smoke, it irritates that some one always follows.
