No, but this doesn't change the fact that people smoke in closed train stations and platforms, does it?

And the tourists who arrive here by plane and get a train into Zurich and then, because the come from a country where smoking is more restricted, notice how smelly Zurich HBf and and other stations are.

I've just been using some trains in Italy and I have to stay that the stations were so much more pleasant and clean than the dirty, smelly Swiss ones.

My point being that this isn't the image that Switzerland portrays in it's brochures and adverts to attract foreign tourists.

Yes, they were, and it made the whole 1,5 hour waiting time because of the train delay so much more pleasant...

There weren't any delays but yes, the lovely food and decent espresso would have made the wait a pleasure rather than a pain.

I know lots of Swiss who can't stand people smoking everywhere.

I would sooner get a face full of perfume than the disgusting stink of smoke.

I would like to see a smoke ban at all train stations and tram stations,but Im realistic and know it will never happen.

Lol we have just spent six days in Lake Garda.

In the whole time we were there, not one train was on time. I must admit I didn't see much of a difference regarding smoking on the platforms at all. Maybe slightly less but didn't really seem noticeable if Im being honest.

But it's kind of amusing to see you go in circles, getting all worked up about this. And I definitely don't want this "problem" to be solved for you because God only knows what next thing you want to force on us. It might not be as petty as this one.

I'm a non-smoker, and I don't find it un-pleasant.

Funny. Sitting in the garden tonight with a friend. She suddenly says: "Somebody started smoking". A bit puzzled I answer: "Yes, I am". She says, "No, not your type".
