Re: Smoking on the train platforms.uughh

When we're talking about smelly people, I find people who overdose on perfume just as annoying on the tram as people smalling of stale smoke.

If annoying people with your own inability to realize how you stink is an issue, let's criticize it across the board.

Re: Smoking on the train platforms.uughh

Smell always depends on natural smell/body odour. Perfumes never smell the same on everyone. Some people can eat a pound of garlic and not reek of it, others eat a tiny bit and you can smell it coming out of their pores immediately. Same for smoke (and alcohol) - you can't smell smoke on everyone and certainly not equally on everyone. Plenty of people who you would never ever guess were smokers vs others where you can smell smoke from a mile away.

So your friends are supporting your addiction. And they force you to smoke...... mmmm

Not all non- and ex-smokers are annoying. I actually just realized that I have a lot more of those in my circle of mates and friends now than I do smokers . None of them has a problem with my smoking. Sometimes they even make sure I'll be able to smoke when I don't even want to (which I find very sweet and do appreciate even if I don't always use the opportunity).
I obviously know how to pick friends - and I'm obviously a very lucky person. Who would have thought a silly thread like this would make me see that!

You can't change people, only they themselves can. But if you enjoy their company you can make it easier for them to tolerate yours.

No, her friends value her companionship and don't mind if she is a smoker. Are all your friends..."pure"? Don't drink, don't eat, nothing?

Re: Smoking on the train platforms.uughh

I have noticed that a lot of my friends have given up smoking through how their lives have changed over the years. Having children seems to be the big one.

I now have a little great niece and nephew. I would never smoke in front of them!! It is an unwritten rule. My smoking now non-smoking friends have not pushed me away nor have I pushed them away.

It would be petty to do that, and would really question the friendships. The same with friends who have given up booze. They know the rest of us like a drink and we know they have stopped. It's respect and love.

Does eating smoked meat, fish, cheese, or chiles count as passive smoking?

Does inhaling the smell of my neighbour's overcooked vegetables count as passive veganism?

If you smoke it yourself and eat it too you're definitely in for an early grave.

Same reason people don't pick their noses, tell others to fu** off, eat with the mouth open, beat someone up, have sex in front of children.

Unless of course Patsycat is related to you and her nieces are your kids. Then it's because she's trying to avoid your nagging.

Yep, I'm the second person you tell that to. (Got it on copy/paste?). That's the trouble in a forum

Maybe private conversation in separate little windows should be introduced in EF. Oh hang on, we got that, in the chatroom.

Unless you've got skills as a mind reader and can read pastycat's mind, it's pretty irrelevant to me what you posted.

It was her reasoning that I was interested in and not yours but as you write, please feel free to carry on posting.

Tom 1234,

Have you ever thought of just stepping away from this post, ignoring it as i really get the feeling people are just pulling your string to get a reaction and it seems to be in top class working order...
