Re: Smoking on the train platforms.uughh On the subject of smoking in odd places, how come so many smokers light up in underground car parks? Surely this has to be dangerous? Often there are even ash trays mounted by the lifts - so it's obviously expected... |

I have also seen Swiss people filling their cars with petrol with a cigarette in their mouth. Is this not dangerous either?? |

I like the idea of the designated smoking boxes, it seems like the most sensible option to me. It means smokers still get to stand around smoking and other people can avoid that zone and don't have to breathe in the smoke. The smell of smoke doesn't bother me that much, but I do often get it blown in my face here too (either that or someone walking directly in front of me is smoking and it trails behind right into my face), and that's a little bit gross. |
Re: Smoking on the train platforms.uughh Well, maybe you just need practice. Here's lesson number one for free. There is nothing amusing about KFC. Quote:

Re: Smoking on the train platforms.uughh That's the reason I hate going on trains and drive instead. When I was pregnant I got smoke blown into my face every time I entered a train platform. Now with a baby I even got some ignorant old hack blowing smoke into the pram where my baby was sleeping. So I stood up and pushed the pram away to make a point - do you think she felt bad about it? I don't think so. Maybe someone needs to educate swiss people that smoking is actually bad for you and it's certainly not cool anymore. Such an allegedly developed civilization and sometimes (too often I think) so incredibly backwards that it makes me shiver and move back into the jungle! |

Re: Smoking on the train platforms.uughh Already feel better getting this off my chest, I certainly have a thing against smoking and I'm even a cured smoker, only smoked as a teen 'to keep up with the peers' |
