It is obvious that nobody will change their opinion...wonder how long will you carry on though.

| | Re: Smoking on the train platforms.uughh | Quote: | | | | | It doesn't work like that. People usually start smoking at a fairly young age - that age when nothing seems risky and death seems a long way off.
By the time they are hooked, it's too late and, as you said, they try to give up but quite often fail.
As I wrote before, the number of youngsters smoking in Switzerland is going up. | | | | | Would you mind giving me the source again? I see a different trend in my classes, but thats just a small sample size. | Quote: | | | | | De-normalising smoking seems to work for this age group in other countries. Shock tactics don't work on young people.
One way of de-normalising smoking is removing it from everyday view -from parks, public buildings, restaurants (inside and out) and from public transport hubs such as train stations and railway platforms. | | | | | I am sure it has been written before, you have to weight personal freedom and space of different people against each other. The total ban of public smoking can't be the solution. To me open air smoking should be permitted everywhere except small or crowded passages. The rest is up to the parents.
I've been walking around with a baby stroller for two year now in switzerland and have met very considerate smokers in public only. Ok it wasnt downtown zurich....

Our neighbour had been a non smoker for many years but decided to rebel against the non smoking ban and took up smoking again!
He loves it, smokes at least 60 a day, smokes everywhere, doesn't give a hoot... even when he has been hospitalised twice due to severe lung disease from smoking, he continues....
I am sure he has 100% swiss stamped on his lungs...

Well assisted suicide is not illegal here. It’s a pity he sees the need to take us with him.

What an idiot. The smoking ban is an excellent thing and long overdue. The only question is why is it not nationwide and why has it taken so long to implement.
Enjoy a smoke free environment

LOL.
I find this more fitting.
So, anyone has the link where I can complain about the smoking-ban on platforms? Don't want to miss the dead-line, do I. | The following 2 users would like to thank curley for this useful post: | |

It has not rained hard for quiet a while now, so all the cigarette butts that would be washed away into the drains remain lying all around . Its just so disgusting. Each butt symbolizes someone who does not give a shit about the environment!
