Ah, yes. I remember when we first moved here, and we were taking buses and trains everywhere.

I'll never forget the day we were lined up along with everyone else waiting for a bus . There were probably twenty people or so waiting. Along came this guy, he faced the line on purpose and lit up a cigarette . He then proceeded to walk down the line purposefully blowing his smoke in everyone's face, and flicking his ashes on their shoes. Then he got to the very end of the line where there was a woman with a pram, and a little baby. He stopped right in front of them and blew cigarette smoke directly in the babies face!

I thought a murder was going to take place that day, but no one said anything. Not even the woman with the baby . The buses came, and everyone hurried on .

That was the day we decided to get a car, no matter what. We had been planning to get one, but that day just made getting a car priority 1 .

Also, just wanted to say that vegetarians DO BBQ They just cook veggie burgers or grill vegetables or cheese. It's nice.

I'm surprised one can walk down Bahnhofstrasse without sticking to the pavement. They should rename it to " chewing gum street"( Kaugummistrasse )

Haha, well I was about to reply that we didn't say or do anything either. Just like everyone else. I guess we thought the guy wasn't worth getting into an argument with ( just like everyone else ?? ) He was obviously looking to make people angry.

Looking back now, and thinking of the mother and baby. She was by herself. Should she have risked saying something to this guy and possibly put her child in more danger ?

Everyone has to make decisions in life. Sometimes you're right. Sometimes you're wrong.

Even if I had done something , I wouldn't have 'beat' this person up physically. It's just not something I agree with.

Edit* Oh, and to answer your question. I don't think I did either of the things you mentioned. I probably just thought the guy was unbelievably rude, and what was wrong with him .

Seriously? A bloke who purposely blows smoke into the faces of TWENTY people and a baby in a bus queue, and drops ash on their shoes is clearly not right in the head and is spoiling for a fight.

The people in the queue probably did the right thing and didn't indulge him.

Psst.

It didn't happen in Switzerland. The clue being that the people at the bus stop stood in a neat line.

Lol. Never said it was a neat line, but I'm not sure how else to describe it. We were all waiting there in a formation like a line. I'm sure you know what I mean....

Please take note:

If you make any derogatory comment about smoking on this forum then you need to provide at least ten posts proving your case in intricate detail otherwise you'll be accused of being a liar.

P.S. I've had smoke deliberately blown in the face of a two week year old baby (mine) before here so yours is not a one-off case.

It has not rained hard for quiet a while now, so all the cigarette butts that would be washed away into the drains remain lying all around . Its just so disgusting. Each butt symbolizes someone who does not give a shit about the environment!

Well it finally rained hard around my area and all these buttheads were washed into the drain. Good riddance butthead

What the hell is a "two week year old baby"?

In any case, that it was yours was most likely the reason.

Tom

P.S. Smoke is good for the immune system.

Oh, okay . I didn't see the comment as an accusation. I really thought it was a clever joke about how Swiss people queue ( have heard this joke before from others ).

Anyhow, sorry you had a similar experience with your baby . That's awful.

Re: Smoking on the train platforms.uughh

I’d say the test at Nyon station is working, after a few hiccoughs. Yesterday I saw two CFF rent-a-cops standing just outside the blue line. Each had a cigarette in their hands but they were visibly checking other passengers for smokes. One guy threw his onto the floor and stomped on it. They made him pick it up and put it in the ashtray.

Well done CFF!
