in the states that appear gray you must agree to remain tobacco-free and if you smoke you can be terminated
this especially applies in the health industry for doctors, nurses must be smoke-free and can be tested for nicotine https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Smoker_protection_law | Quote: | | | | Where is that exactly?
Google is only coming up with companies having the right to ban smoking in the workplace and grounds. Or you can specify a non-smoker in the job application but the applicant is not required to divulge whether they smoke or not.
Googled Europe, US and Australia.

The comments on the article from those pro-smokers are just as childish and their arguments as nonsensical as the ones on this forum.
Nice to see that the Public transport organisation agrees with my comments earlier on this thread that Swiss stations are dirty and they smell even though some of the delusional souls on this forum still think they are the cleanest in Europe and mocked my posts.

Your pleas were heard. All your unbearable suffering will soon come to end. As of summer 2019 smoking will be banned in the train stations and on the platforms (with the exception of a few designated areas for the smokers). https://www.nzz.ch/schweiz/saemtlich...989#kommentare | This user would like to thank Calvin for this useful post:

Not actually much progress. The platforms at Nyon are currently non smoking, they should stay that way. And cheats should be prosecuted.

I really hope idiot addicts that still spread cancer elsewhere will be legally allowed to be made aware of this finally arriving rule by means of Singapore-like penalties. According to that Blick/20min article plenty of retards still around that I wouldn’t mind seeing getting some penalties that actually hurt. I miss SG.

Hi,
it looks like a poor solution from the SBB. It is a shame that they are still going to allow smoking sections on platforms. I hope they will be enclosed rooms, otherwise it is of no help at all. Basel station has been so much better since the smoking ban and this will be a backward step if they go back to allowing smoking on platforms. Zurich is a horrible station to use due to smoking and so the SBB solution will provide a small amount of improvement if it is means in the rest of the building smoking is banned.
Why also can't the new rules come into force immediately. We do we have to suffer until June 2019 ?
have fun in a smoke free atmosphere

Six people killed and four injured in fire in Solothurn. At least two young children killed. Probable cause, a cigarette.
More needs to be done to cure nicotine addicts. And to protect children.

Beautifully clean and no smell.
Zurich Hbf is a bit of an embarrassment (and I'm not even Swiss).

Martin | | | | | Neuchâtel was one of the stations taking part in the trial and I think they tried various different options in different places.
In Neuchâtel there was a smoking area on each platform but it was completely enclosed so there was no smell of smoke outside these areas other than on the clothes of the smokers.
I am assuming this is how it will be everywhere once the new rules come into force.

All the ones I've seen (apparently) have the heating elements included, but they never switch on ...
In general, though, the fastest way to remove at least half the rubbish on the ground in Zurich would be for smokers to stop tossing their butts on the ground. I know some dispose of their butts properly, but they are in a distinct minority. One approach which was helpful in Australia (about 20 years ago!) was for "personal butt bins" which you can clip onto your belt, and they hold about a dozen butts ... so you just empty that whenever you're near a bin, rather than look for one with every cigarette.
It's long been unacceptable for people to just dump food wrappers on the ground (although a minority do), how come it's still seen as acceptable by the majority of smokers to dump their butts?

Considering they specialise in Oncology, amongst other things, this is how it should be. And this is their decision.

Have fun: | Quote: | | | | Is the smoking ban on playgrounds coming now?
In Dietikon, smoking will probably no longer be allowed on [public] playgrounds in the near future. It would be a novelty for the canton of Zurich.
[...]
Outside Switzerland, such a ban is already more common. In France, for example, a smoking ban on playgrounds has been in place since 2015, and in some German federal states it is known or discussed. | | | | | https://www.tagesanzeiger.ch/zuerich...story/27183361 | The following 2 users would like to thank aSwissInTheUS for this useful post:

Hope it is ultimately implemented nationwide, a very sensible proposition considering the established health risks stemming from passive smoking
