| | Where are the REAL MEN? .
I'd just like to take this opportunity to say to the OP:
"Sorry, but if I stopped to deal with every woman who throws herself at my feet, I wouldn't have any time to do anything else "

This made me laugh..It's not about IF men consume inet porn or not and that probably really isn't a gender issue either. Maybe openly bragging about it may make some feel like real guys. | | | | | Usually someone will brag about something he has a lack of... |

Now this incident with unchivalry brat... We have had it

My guess is that the man was a physicist. Having observed the poor OP's exact momentum (ie. zero, as she was lying on the floor), then he assumed he couldn't find her exact position in order to help her up.
Damn you Heisenberg!
(Sorry to hear about the thumb. Mrs Boris had some similar issues with people standing and gawping when Mk 1 infant was overturned in her buggy and spouting blood from the nose.)

I know where you can find one of these "REAL MEN" of which you speak...
When my daughter was a young baby still feeding through the night, each time she needed to feed, he'd get up and fetch her and bring her to me and then place her back in bed after her tummy was full. He did this when I had my son too.
If he arrives home early enough from work (which is often, he especially leaves early in the morning so that he can come home early enough to help me out) he'll do the entire bath/bed-time routine for both of the kids.
He sits through nauseating chick flicks with me.
He loves me even though I can really be full of nonsense at times.
The list goes on and on and on..
and he is right here sitting next to me on the couch watching yet another chick flick with me | The following 13 users would like to thank Meisie for this useful post: | |

I wish I had the same amount of tolerance in terms of time spent on the EF. Now I must limit myself to weekends only
... but again if she fell I would immediately be on my four
(and here comes the time to finally say goodnite to the EF )

I would say same things go for both genders. There was a social projects/test does in Lithuania public transport. Young couple had big arguing going in the bust, sometimes even beating and etc. (this was acting). Pretty much no one cared about that, there was no hep offered no matter of what age was other people.
I remember situation. I was going back home with bus and there was a completely drunk guy in the bus. There was no place to sit for him, lost of kids going back home too. Bus driver suddenly had to break and of course the drunk guy felt. He started to shout on the driver for several stops (no one listen to him, he was drunk, he couldn't even walk normally) and finally shout "I am gonna kill you, you pyp pyp, ...". Some women screamed that he has a gun, the bus stopped and he went to driver, took his gun out. Bus driver took his gun out, etc, etc, etc. But that was interesting that no one cared about that too. Everyone was sitting in their places and waiting until this is over and bus continues on the way.
I have seen dozen different things, but always no one cares about what's happening around until they are involved.
Swiss people are completely different and I LOVE them. I lived in Geneva a two years ago and people in mountains were amazing. Everyone saying hello, talking with completely strangers, everyone is helping each other. This is so nice, just amazing how good people are.
I come back to Swiss (Zurich) after a year, something like that. I don't want to sound negative, but I don't like the picture I see. One day I was fishing some girls ID card, wallet internals from water during the rain. I talked with some Swiss guy (mid-age) who helped me to find lost+found place and he told me that Swiss has changed and it's not that safe anymore, it's just myth.
I still would say living in Geneva, French side I felt somehow better and probably would prefer to live there.
Just some thoughts...

If you guys are anything like me, you have felt the blows to self-confidence when compared to iconic heroic manly men.
I seriously recommend the following book, which was recommended to me by my therapist:
Fire in the Belly: On Being a Man
By Sam Keen

| | Re: Where are the REAL MEN? | Quote: | | | | | ...or chivalry is really dead? With half of the earth population being male, there are extremely few real men out there. Don't get me wrong, I completely blame the over chickefication of guys by overzealous feminists, but really ladies, we are just working against us. Yesterday I was walking my dog when my ankle gave away and I was flat on my face in the middle of the street. A guy was walking by about ten feet away from me, looking at me laying on the ground and he WALKS AWAY!! Without saying a word! Now I am not someone waiting to be rescued by men ( I was a US Army wife for 12 years after all ) but an "are you all right?" would've been very welcome .
Maybe I am old fashioned but I do love when men open doors for me, saying hello to me first, or taking heavy bags from me. Not because I am less capable but these little acts of kindness shows respect. And in my opinion the world could use a little more respect in it. End of rant. | | | | | Blimey! Poor you, sounds horrible. Hope you're okay. I'm with you on the old fashioned front. I dish courtesy out to fellow womenkind as well--opening doors, holding elevators and helping women with pushchairs up stairs. I believe in being seen to be courteous, I enjoy it and I think it rubs off on people.
My question is...what did you dog do? I bet he sympathised and gave the rude passer-by 'the evils' on your behalf.
