No, not arrogant. If you prefer, USA = United States of (Northern) America = Americans. Canada and Mexico are not part of the United States, although technically you could call them "American" as in residing in Northern America, it would generally engender confusion.
And probably a few slaps too...

The english can't pronounce my Province properly. Quoueebek

Or the worst is when they call us Quoueebeker. x2

Why? How's it supposed to be pronounced? (Genuine question. I've only ever heard that pronounciation.)
You're listening to the wrong people.

BTW, I've talked to a few locals about the Simpsons, but most of them have no sense of Homer.

So let's get this right - you're offering, as your phonetic reference point, someone who hasn't even mastered the basic "Oggy Oggy Oggy" yet.

Not good.

Not Good At All.

I'm guessing 'Oggy is before her time.

Ozzie, Ozzie, Ozzie etc is very common in Oz these days.

english people are from england. scottish are from scotland. irish people are from ireland. welsh people are from wales. these are all different!
Collectively British yes but inividual. A Scot would never say he was British and anyway we are for the most part all mongrel nations.
Exactly. A Scot might never SAY he was British, but strictly speaking he IS from the UK.

Mind you, if he's from Glasgow you can't understand him anyway.

Perhaps you need a little history refresher. Canada is no longer a colony. "With the passage of the Statute of Westminster, Canada ceased to be a colony of Britain"
http://www2.canadiana.ca/citm/themes/constitution/constitution15_e.html

Last I heard Fritz/French Fries are best known as "Poutine" in Quebec. Oh...what I would do for some French Canadian Poutine. UMMM UMMM Good!

You can't blame us "lower North Americans" for being a bit confused. I mean, after all, the Queen of England, Queen Elizabeth II is Queen of Canada and Canada's Head of State.
