Sorry, but I never understood why girls don't get it: Lagerfeld is gay. Wolfgang Joop is gay, most other high fashion designer are... openly. This is nothing bad at all, but this means that they do not see women in the same way heterosexual men do. Heterosexual men do love tits (I guess that qualifies for "quote of the day"?)

As these designers' models - no matter which gender - look like teenage boys, so I'd say they have a fair share of Ephebophilia... Lagerfeld for example has a 19yr old "source of inspiration". You don't need to look like a model that meets the demands of an old weird homosexual - because you can't anyway. Just take his creations as art.

The boy looks handsome. But I would never EVER want to be with a guy like that. He looks like he doesn't have a personnality. And he also looks like he spend more time than me in the bathroom (a big no-no).

I prefer a guy with something not perfect, something manly. Like my hubby or as a second choice, my Matthew Morrison...

Most gay men love and appreciate a great pair young man, the difference is they don't have to sit down or remain seated while they are looking and thinking about motor boating.

Lagerfeld metamorphed from a fat happy gay guy, to a skinny mean gay guy within a year. Obvious indications of self-loathing which is also evident in his work. The fat Lagerfeld still portrayed women in somewhat healthier forms, while the skinny Lagerfeld started producing images of contorted tortured women.

Pity the fashion victims, and beautiful young models who aspire to succeed in that industry.

I think it is funny when a straight macho dude goes around sporting a D&G logo, likely unaware that Dolce & Gabbana is a gay couple.

A couple of years ago I had a chat with a govt. official in China. I asked him how much is being done to combat counterfeits, seeing as everything is openly sold despite their promises to clamp down.

He claims that the people in the industry themselves are not interested in combating fakes. People like LV "allows" the counterfeit market to thrive because it creates brand awareness amongst chinese people. The chinese are all getting richer and at some point, even if a small percentage of them can afford an LV bag, LV will make tonnes of money. The chinese love to show off their status, and what better way to do it than to show everyone around you that you have the real thing in a sea of fakes. Of course, this wouldn't be possible if there was no counterfeit market.

So I don't think LV cares that much that in Europe their brand is diluted by fakes. What matters is the huge potential market in China.

Are those comment on sexuality of designers necessary? Speculation on perceived mysogenic traits of certain fashion designers?
Besides, Lagerfeld could have been easily sick, not entirely uncommon in his age..

I think it would be funny if homophobes did this, but generally speaking I think very few people (even straight macho dudes) care about the producer's sexual orientation of the products they consume.

Why is that funny? What the designers couple sexual preference will change in the macho guy's mind?
