That was just a generalisation from me since my mother has been crazy about them since her thirties.... I know I grew up with their music in the house.... Believe me, that explain a lot about me!

(...)''Et les violons d'acadie de St-John Saint...'' (...)

(...)''Je t'attendrai my love.... ne m'oublie pas my love... Ceux qui s'aiment reviennent toujours au jardin de l'amour.....'' (...)

And I won't mention Dick Rivers...

Can I borrow your wok , when you're finished?
I think it would be more fun to borrow Nil`s husband - no training needed. So no need for a wok.

Re: Unwanted house guests

My mil was a tough woman - but I thank her every day.

Must say though, I love having guests - but would never accept 'unwanted' ones- especially as part of a 'deal' (looking after dog, garden, etc) - as it is asking for trouble. You obviously know the guy- so surely you could have guessed it would turn out to be a difficult situation.

Just had a lovely week looking after grand-children (toddlers) followed by a week hosting teenagers - loved it, but I'm cream-crackered. Wouldn't dream of complaining though, as it was a pleasure and my choice of course.

An interesting afternoon.....I let him stay an extra night......and by 5 pm he was still here, hanging round and just generally being a pain. I went to the supermarket for some peace, whilst there he text me to say that I was being 'Frosty'. When I came home, we had one big blow out row and I have thrown him out.

Now thats the way to do it!
Shout shout let it all out!!! Then use the boot!

Re: Unwanted house guests

Well, I'm glad to see that this issue is over.

....... and nobody can say you didn't try hard enough.

especially with a double wok beating..... it must be flat as an ordinary frypan by now.

He is supposed to be leaving today but thinks he is staying.....is he thick......do I have to hit him round the head with my wok to get him to understand.....?

Re: Unwanted house guests

Good Luck ;(

We had the same experience last summer, when we let the house for a friend since she didn't have where to stay for 3 weeks. Hopefully I have insisted to keep the cleaning lady coming every week, otherwise.....
