| | Microsoft's help is unhelpful!
I've gone nuts the whole day trying to sort out one small little problem. So I sent an email to microsoft as the ? Icon proved to be just that an unanswered question. Their reply was to search through their online communities, newspapers and god knows what, to find the answer.
If by chance someone knows a really good link to solutions, I'd be very grateful! |

So, how are you? Been here long? How did you find the forum?
Did I miss what the problem was?
Welcome to the EF

Why don't you post the little problem here? Or is it one of those embarrassing link stuck in your history things? |

Thanks for the welcome, just joined through a friend. Didn't mention the problem as I didn't want to bore all!

Welcome to the Forum!
Hey, guys, don't jump on all the newbies. We don't all get it "right" to begin with.

I know what you mean, Hot Chocolate. Can you believe that the miserable landlady at the Bear's Paw barred me and never even gave me a reason? I was just sitting there enjoying my pint of bitter when she came over and rather rudely invited me to leave.
I hadn't got my jacket with me, and I had to sit shivering on the pavement outside for half an hour while my 'friends' finished their pints.
Hard, sometimes, isn't it?

So it seems that I made a faux pas by not introducing myself as a newbie but as there is not much to say about myself and what there is to know you'll most likely learn about very quickly in any posts I write. so instead I'll thank those who welcomed me and accept the flack from the others.

Stick around. We get quite a lot of this sort of problems on here. When all the experts have given advice and links all evening, the guy comes back and says, "Sorry, it wasn't Microsoft after all. I've got a Mac."

So for those that like the challenge of aiding a computer illiterate person. Here is the problem as few words as possible....
Have upgraded to windows 7. Decided to try 60 day trial offer office 2010. In the word organizer with folders and documents, I don't get a preview or even a picture of the document just the word icon and 'preview unavailable'. I've put in the tick for enable preview in the options box and tried a couple of other things but nothing seems to work.
You're right JPZ, it is time consuming and from some research on the web I found one solution which says to go to set up and do this that and the other but it looks a bit complicated and am sure I'll bugger it up!

Thanks Dougal's breakfast for the tip but decided to go back to 2007 as I'm not forking out for a product that's not much different and giving me aggro!
