I do understand that. of course it can be very frustrating to hear those comments about your own country and culture. It is the reason I am not joining an expat forum in my country. Because they are probably bitching about my country, with right or not. But this isn't my problem, I am from that country and I can understand why they nedd to vent it out. I have been living for 8 years in different countries now, I know how it is...

As much as I understand them to be upset to hear us talking like this, I can't get the why they stick around and bitch on us to do what we are allowed to do in this forum in a specific section. As he told us, if we don't like it here, we should off. Same thing apply to him on this forum...

No, I'd be lying if I said so. And I most definitely don't have a problem with others criticizing aspects of living here. What prompted my reaction is the OP's saying that he hates everything about this place, including all Swiss.

He said he hates "the people", and clearly he didn't mean every man, woman, child and new born baby. You're the only one in the thread who thought he did. He said "the people" in a commonly used general term for the population of a country.

ALSO if you look at my location....apparently the Gruyerien are the worst of the worst. and the once I know reaLLY are. so that prob has lots to do with it...
