I'm positively saying that some people (specifically the couples I know of who form the basis of my rant) just don't get it, and have no excuse not to.

They have failed to cover the basics before going on to seek medical advice for infertility.

They may have tried/educated themselves from the wrong source. They may have been embarrassed to discuss it. They may have been advised wrongly. They may be ashamed (due to religion-influenced upbringing) for their failures to have a baby. They may not feel comfortable to discuss it between each other even, let along among friends.

Well, I happen to think I'm not too bad, for being a fatty... since I'm currently trying NOT to get pregnant, that doesn't add much to the success of the venture.

On the other hand, I've certainly met some others who are really hawt! (And possibly potential future clients)

It wasn't very obvious from my post, I actually agreed with you. Just saying you can apply certain cerebral lack to any people who haven't read up on anything and are wondering why things don't work, when simple solution is sometimes so close. I wouldn't assume people do not know, or don't read up, though, since sometimes they really do, but they won't tell you and don't want to get into debates over their ovaries or sticking thermometers you know where, you see?

I try to help out with nursing, same thing. You would be surprised how many moms don't trust their own bodies, they don't know them. This dissociation from our physical part, lack of knowledge, etc. is sad. But, unlike nursing, conception is so much more tricky..Your friends are lucky to have you to push your advice on them
