| | I hate moving
Oh bugger, just need to vent a bit of steam.
I am getting my stuff in storage and emptying the flat and it's hell, pure hell.
Hot sweaty and pi55ed off beyond belief, banged my knee for starters, have a head ache still the flat is full of stuff even after three hours of dragging boxes down a narrow and steep staircase and chucking most stuff in the bin.
I hate moving with every fiber of my Sein.
There, steam valve opened and back under control.

I hate it too. I vowed that we will not move again unless we pay someone to do it. Being eternally broke, it seems like we'll be staying put for a while!

i hate the idea of it. but when i'm actually doing it, i quite enjoy it. i like the physical exertion, the pain and accidents, the hectic organisation and figuring out how to cram everything into a van, find parking, get the sofa up an impossibly narrow and awkward staircase... | This user would like to thank Phil_MCR for this useful post: | |

Where's the problem? Moving shows you how many things you own, many more than you ever thought. You're stinking rich! Rejoice!

Do what I do. Find an old piece of furniture that you don't need and are ready to throw away.. Take all your frustration out on it and smash it to bits ... | Quote: | | | | | Oh bugger, just need to vent a bit of steam.

Right, got out of the flat in Berneck, I only lost my mind in the process but as there was not that much there anyway, who cares?
I had written to the landlord saying that I would be there at the weekend but I would be back at work Monday.
So if the bugger wanted anything he should have been there, he wasn´t and come Sunday afternoon I left the keys on the window ledge
and beetled off to Basel.
I had been advised to leave the flat "tip top rein" and I did, even to the point of going with a scalpell under the skirting board.
Seems we have different opinions on what constitutes "tip top rein"
I got a flaming mail on Monday.
There was a matchhead dint in the showerstall and it blew his top, also the Lavabo was supposedly damaged (eventhough I never saw something)
Admittedly I HAD forgotten to do the baking oven but I had told him this in a mail stating that I would reemburse for the ovencleaning.
The top of the kitchen cupboard was dusty, there was a spider-web still hanging somewhere, one of the tooth-glasses was missing and the
loo-brush was well, the way a loo-brush should be.
And how can I just leave without an ordentliche Abnahme, looks like I am now a bad person for that, though it is a bit steep coming from a bloke who in the beginning left the contract on the floor and who I did not see for the first two years.
I got two pages of rant and fire and brimstone and pretty heavy threats.
He now wants to replace the shower and wants my insurance (sod that, realy is a matchhead sized dint) and send me a bill for 600 Chuffs for the cleaning and the damage.
Looks like the stormy weather is not over yet, still it means that I do not have to go back this weekend.

If he isn't there to inspect on exit, isn't just his word against yours?
i.e. "it was fine when I left it [and you are a lying bastard]"

Let your insurance take care of it. He will have to prove to the insurance company that there really is a problem with the shower head.

Slammer.. you can't win that one, he still has your guarantee no ?
Hire some cleaning help, it will be easier in the long run than raising a fuss. |

We just got away with not paying 600 francs cleaning fee as we had taken photos of all the mess, holes and yukky bits when we moved into old place , saying that though we left it in a fat better state after scrubbing and painting for a week ( not that we are grotbags btw! )
Stuck to our guns and proved a point with them !
