well, it as a real one, i actually called the company. And so now I have to wait for their call.
Not to be paranoid, but weejeem's got a point. Did you call the bus company - or just some number given in the letter that accompanied this mysterious bill? Check it in the phone book.

This probably should have been done as soon as you got the first bill, but it is not too late now:

1) Call them up
2) Tell them that is not your name and you do not know why they are sending you other people's bills
3) Wait and see what they say

Sounds like you have done (1) and (2) already, so just wait until you get the call back and listen to what they say. Don't muddle things by asking questions of your own (time and date, what form of ID the person showed, etc.) Keep it simple and let them do the talking. If they ask for a copy of your ID to compare to whatever ID they have on file, just send it to them. They may not have a right to demand it, but you want to get this straightened out quickly, right?

If it's not your mother's name, it shouldn't be embarrassing for her any more than for you. Mistakes happen. The goal now is to get it cleared up quickly so that they can stop bothering you/your mother and move on to the actual offender.
this is actually my 2nd bill, i got the first bill very late, and i didn't have time to clear things, i was very busy,

Sometimes I wish we could slow these things down a bit. One thing I don't understand is why, if a 'bill' turned up at your Mother's workplace with a name on which isn't yours, anyone decided it concerned you. If you and your mother have the same 'family name' this could just as well be for her.
Please, no logic or common sense on a Friday afternoon.

Send them a registered letter. Deny their accusation, ask for proof.
that's the main reason why i called them, for proof.

It is my last name, plus the place is Geneva, could only be that im the only one or my mom to have that surname.

You didnt hear the first part of what UTH said - send them a formal registered letter asking for proof. Phonecalls are easily forgotten when its passed from one minion to another.

Well, if you are the only ones in Geneva with that surname, and if you are insisting that the company is legit, then:
a. your mum must have been the offender (see point d.)
b. you are the offender (see point d.)
b. someone probably stole one of your IDs and showed it to the inspector when they got caught
c. One or both of you are suffering from amnesia.

Evita, I know you called them. But did you get their number from the telephone directory, or did you get it from the letter they sent you?

The reason I am asking is that IF it is a scam, they probably gave you their own phone number to call, not the legitimate number for the bus company. Before you give any information out, you really need to be sure who you're giving it to.

Why don't you do what weejeem suggested, scan the bill/letter and post them here?

You have the same surname as your mother? The first name wasn't yours. The bill went to your mother's workplace. Why did anyone think it concerned you?

summerrain, the thing is, they must've ticketed a person using my name (only wrong one), and let that person go that quick. It doesn't make any sense at all, it's not my mom, because she would never go outside geneva, plus same situation, she could've shown her ID and the bill must have her exact name.

I received a bill that I rather foolishly ignored until possibly too late

Executive Summary
1/ OP's mother receives bill at work that is clearly not for her (not being in her name and her not being in Morges on the day in question).

2/ OP assumes the bill is for them (despite it not being in their name and theynot in Morges on the day in question either).

3/ OP ignores the bill.

4/ Bill-sender raises the stakes.

5/ OP asks for help on EF.

6/ People on EF try to help.

7/ When suggested that it may be a bogus bill, OP says "No, it's real".

8/ At point 7/, weejeem looks back at point 3/, and says "Sorry - I can't help you. Good luck."

9/ Err, that's it.

Well, if you are so positive that they've got it wrong, then wait for their call to clear it up.
All our suggestions seem to be brushed aside anyway.

so to get this straight in my head

A bill arrives and its not in your name or your mums name, you called the company who sent the bill (so they now have your proper name, smart move!!) 2 things spring to mind, why the hell did you open a letter not addressed to you? why are you stressing about this anyway? if your that bothered ask them for proof, prove your not the person with a photocopy of your passport, live a long and happy life

this bothers me because of they sent it over my mom's workplace, related to an ambassador. Which is really not good. And yes sir, that's what i just did, asked for proof, they asked me to wait for their call.

That's exactly what everybody here is trying to tell you. You ought to be pro-active instead of waiting for their call (that may or may not come). Plus, you have ignored the first invoice.

You have NO PROOF on your side. That's why you should write a registered letter to challenge their fine. Everything else is just wishy-washy, since the invoice has been sent to you already (aka, the fine is processed and will not be revoked just on your say-so).

In the meantime, the cost will only go up and maybe they will issue a Betreibung (debt collection) as per their standard operation procedure.
