Ikea is a bloodbath even on a normal Saturday. The after-lunch chaos will be a sight to behold!

Just paid. Things appear to be getting back to the normal chaotic state.

Was in there about 11ish, thank Goodness I missed it. Never go there PM on a Saturday because I value my sanity and my marriage in equal terms.

Interesting - something has been going on. Both Aldi (which was closed) and Migros were having "technical difficulties" with card payments in Embrach this morning. Cyber attack

Re: IKEA Spreitenbach - Nightmare

I think it was a general problem, I couldn't pay at Digitec (ZH) either - the guy couldn't really speak English and I thought it was a problem with my credit card, so i called my Danish bank and spoke to them, they ensured me I indeed had the money. Then i went to hauptbahnhof and got the money from an ATM - by the time I returned (around 15:00) everything worked again.

I just moved here and I already have a really bad impression of using credit cards (or debitcards) in Switzerland. It even seems to be common to reject them, if its below 20 sfr. In Denmark i haven't used cash for years..

What is going on? Yesterday we had lunch at a restaurant on the slopes in Verbier and they had the same problem, and so had the resort when we had to pay dues this morning????

Where are all our IT buffs to tell us what's what?

Maybe they are cracking jokes on the EF, so they don't even know what's going on.

Or they are cracking something else. I read that some hackers broke into the "secure RSA" system - I bank with Credit Suisse and they just phased it out, but I don't know who was affected and how...

Re: IKEA Spreitenbach - Nightmare

Greetings,

Media Markt in Dietlikon had the same issue last weekend - if you could not pay cash then your goods were put behind the cashier and you were asked to move on.

Normally I don't like Media Markt anyway (prices are usually shite) but I had to buy these goods this day so joined the queue for the CS ATM downstairs and eventually returned to MM, picked up the same goods again from the aisles and paid by cash.

Regards.

PitBull.

Incorrect! They still use RSA but the method of code delivery has changed from keychain dingleberry to OTA on GSM.

Sites hit in massive web attack

http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/technology-12933053

Security firm Websense has been tracking the attack since it started on 29
March. The initial count of compromised sites was 28,000 sites but this has grown to encompass many times this number as the attack has rolled on.

Websense dubbed it the Lizamoon attack because that was the name of the first domain to which victims were re-directed. The fake software is called the Windows Stability Center.

The re-directions were carried out by what is known as an SQL injection
attack. This succeeded because many servers keeping websites running do not filter the text being sent to them by web applications.

The fake security software warns about non- existent viruses on victims' PCs

By formatting the text correctly it is possible to conceal instructions in it
that are then injected into the databases these servers are running. In this case the injection meant a particular domain appeared as a re-direction link on webpages served up to visitors.

Early reports suggested that the attackers were hitting sites using Microsoft SQL Server 2003 and 2005 and it is thought that weaknesses in associated web application software are proving vulnerable.

Ongoing analysis of the attack reveals that the attackers managed to inject code to display links to 21 separate domains. The exact numbers of sites hit by the attack is hard to judge but a Google search for the attackers' domains shows more than three million weblinks are displaying them.
