Interio is nice, so is Avanti (where they now are), Micasa is a good as Migros (furniture food analogy) i.e. boring and tasteless...

Toptip is all german import and Conforama is all french ...

i agree that the quality of Ikea is not really top notch, but personally I have never had any problems mounting their furniture, I was probably lucky

The advantage with Ikea is that you can put your stuff together like you want it and you can have it quite fast. E.g. I went 2 months ago to Dogern möbelmarkt to buy a bed for my son and I am still waiting for the delivery...
Conforama is part of the Samaritaine-Group of companies (LVMH), and I much prefer French taste to Scandinavian. That TopTip imports heavily from Germany may be, but it is a part of the Coop-group.

Interio here in the Zurich area is still existing, both visually and legally

--- while Avanti at this moment only is in evidence in Aarau (Suhr)
http://www.avanti-moebel.ch/standort-oeffnungszeiten/
------- such things admittedly are subject to change
not least as "Avanti" has a far better sound than Interio

Please realize that MIcasa started when the other options were the then rather expensive Möbel Pfister or distinguished furniture dealers like Rosenberger & Hollinger

Re: The joys of IKEA furniture

By the way, couch still hasn't been fixed. Called and went there in person on the weekend, but they're out of stock.

Hopefully it gets sorted this week. (She says with perpetual optimism...)

Saw that they have a kind of tracking-system

The bed may just be still in the planning phase with "pre-production tests" conducted by the engineers
